Halle Carter

The bright sunlight shone through our giant dorm windows. The bright sun woke me up and looked around to see everyone else still asleep. I look over and Kennedy's bed her hair is all over the place and her feet hanging off the bed and her pillow on the ground. She is not the prettiest sleeper that's for sure.

I check the time to see its 7:30 am and now that i'm awake I can't go back to sleep. So I get up and get ready and grab some breakfast at hogsmeade.

I walk out of the common room and hear some footsteps approaching me. I turn around to see a familiar face and boy with bright red long hair and curtain bangs. "hey ron what are you doing up so early." I said still kinda tired "I couldn't sleep, harry has been keeping me up the past few days with his nightmares" he said in annoyance "so where you off to Hal I wanna come i'm so bored and no one else is awake" he cried "I'm going to hogsmeade, then i'm going to go to three broomsticks for breakfast when it opens up wanna come?" I said "of course I want to come!" he said excitedly.

Ron and I where at hogsmeade for hours before class started. He took me to this one spot where he likes to get away from everything happening at school and stuff it was quite beautiful actually. The trees stood tall as the sun rose from behind creating a beautiful mixture of colors with dashes of pink and orange and yellow. It was beautiful there was even a lake where we sat next to and talked.

"This lake view is so beautiful from here, how did you find out about this place." I said in awe "well i was just walking around one time and saw path and saw this beautiful sight." he said while staring out at the view.

We talked for a little while until we started into each other's eyes. I stared into his sweet luminous brown eyes and I couldn't find myself looking away from them they have me trapped.

I could feel our faces getting closer and closer and his breath fanning my face, our noses touching. But then we stopped our selves before anything could even happen.

After that little thing Ron and I we got some breakfast at Three Broomsticks. We headed back to Hogwarts and headed to our separate dorms.

I attempted to open the door quietly in case anyone was still sleeping but that went horribly wrong when the door made the loudest creaking noise i've ever heard. Kennedy shot her head up and looked at the door as she rubbed her eyes "what are you doing hal" she said while yawing "sorry I just went out for some breakfast" I said walking back to my four-post bed and laid down staring at the ceiling thinking about what just happened. "This early I don't believe it, who did you go with?" Kennedy questioned me I let out a small chuckle "Are you serious ken do I really need a reason to go out and eat breakfast somewhere else, without you assuming I went out with someone." I said "Actually yes Halle, you can't go anywhere by yourself without asking someone to come with you" she said as she sat up I just scoffed and rolled my eyes.

She was right and she knew it. I can't help the fact that I hate to be alone and I need someone to come somewhere with me.

I waited for Kennedy as she got ready for our first class of the term, potions with professor Snape. We both had on white button up blouses and our cobalt blue and sliver Ravenclaw house ties and sweater vests over that, and our house robes that's a strict part of the dress code and some black school shoes.

We walked to potions while other students pushing and shoving to get to there first classes. Lots of chatter filled the air first years asking for directions, other students wondering what crazy thing is gonna happen this year because he haven't had a normal year so far. And students hoping for a nice DADA teacher this year.

We made it to the class and took our seats next to each-other we scanned the room to see any familiar faces we know just then Kennedy groaned "no why does malfoy have to be in this class, I swear headmaster is doing this on purpose giving us the same schedule as his for three years." she said in annoyance. "well at least Harry, Hermione and Ron are in this class they're pretty nice" I said in attempt to make her feel better about being in this class she just shrugged.

Professor was going on and on about merlin knows what potions is probably one of my least favorite lessons. Turns out we're making Amortentia but we've already done this before and Kennedy seemed to be excited cause potions was her favorite. "You will know you made the potion right if it turns purple" Professor said in his low monotone voice that everyone seemed to hate.

Soon enough after adding ingredients and stirring it turned purple knowing we did it right. Professor Snape walked past our table and looked into our cauldron and didn't say anything just nodded. Eventually Kennedy was nose deep into the cauldron to she was she smelled "dior sauvage cologne?" She said questioningly "really? oh my gosh... you don't mean!" I practically screamed "Halle no if you're referring to that albino skinny white boy with daddy issues, you've got me fucked up!" she said very defensively I laughed so hard.

Making fun of Draco Malfoy was our favorite pastime we could really care less if he threatened to "tell his father." I stuck my nose in the cauldron and smelled "vanilla with little hints of cinnamon, kind of what you think autumn smells like" I said questioningly "ooo they must smell really good" Kennedy said "I wonder who that could be?"
