Elizabeth's POV

I walked into the lunchroom with Selina. I took one glance around the whole room, getting an idea of where the usual cliques were located. We both decided to get a hamburger with French fries and a can of coke. Grabbing the meal the cafeteria ladies put together, we looked for a spot to sit.

"Oh, there they are!" Selina exclaimed, pointing at a table with two people already sitting there.

One was a girl and the other was a boy. As we got closer, I noticed that this girl had curled blond hair to her upper back region with bright blue eyes. The boy had a black Justin Beiber haircut and he had brown eyes with a dimple on one side of his cheek. It made him look adorable.

"Take a picture. It'll last longer."

I looked up started when the boy spoke. The boy was smirking at me, giving me a onceover as well. Apparently, he was satisfied because he stood up, shaking my hand, and he also pushed in my chair for me when I sat down at the lunch table.

Throughout lunch, I found out that the boy was called Lucas and that he may sound cocky, but he is really caring and gentle with people and really protective of his girl friends, which consists of the girl that was already at the table, Selina, and now me.

I also found out that the girl was named Sabrina. She was bubbly and friendly, not like those stereotypes about those dumb blondes either. In fact, she is taking a few AP classes too. Sabrina reminded me a lot of my best friend Samantha in New York.

After lunch, the trio walked me to my next class, which was science. I may be smart, but I've always been bad at science. For some reason, we don't get along. Sorry, but our relationship's not gonna work, science. I have AP Psychology with Lucas so we both sat together near the back of the room yet close enough to the door so we can leave faster than anyone else.

Tap. Tap. Tap tap tap.

Ignore it, Elizabeth. Your hated pet peeve will go away.

Tap. Tap. Tap.

I turned around violently.

"Excuse me, but can you please stop?" I began.

"No."

I looked at the guy's face and saw... Jason and Alex. Sighing, I gave up.

"Yo, she said stop. Now, you better do what she said or else!" Lucas said in a gruff and manly voice.

"Ok..." the twins said, rolling their eyes.

Lucas then thanked the twins and turned in his seat. As he was taking notes, I felt another tap on my shoulder. Warily, I turned around and looked into Alex's eyes.

"What?"

"We were just surprised that we were all in the same class and we wanted to tell you, but your friend there didn't have to come to your defense or anything..." Alex said.

I sighed and told them about my pet peeve. They both grinned evilly and nodded in understanding.

"Sorry about that then, Elizabeth," Jason said.

"It's okay."

I turned around and started taking notes again. Midway through the notes, they both poked the end of their pencils at my shoulder blades, making me want to kill them for teasing me.

"I told you guys to stop!" I shouted.

"Elizabeth, detention. No yelling in class."

"What? Alex and Jason were bothering me first!" I shouted.

The teacher glared at the twins and they cowered a bit at the heated glaze. I smirked at them as they began to move uncomfortably.

"Then there will be two more detentions handed out today. Come to this room after school directly. It'll last for two hours."

We obediently nodded and continued to take notes on the lecture. Boy, can't wait for detention! Haha, did you guys read the sarcasm between the lines?
