I shuffled around in the sheets trying to finally fall asleep- basically what i've been doing ever since exams. My score was the only thing on my mind. I tried to focus on the light pitter patter of rain on the window, or the gleaming moon that would occasionally disappear behind dark clouds.

Snuggling to a pillow didn't do the deed. Counting sheep didn't work either. Thinking of good things and proud accomplishments only made me feel more anxious to receive them.

I ended up staring up at the blank wall above me, irritated at myself. Why can't I do such a simple task?

I sighed deeply and rubbed my eyes. I was tired as hell but there was no way of fixing that. I sat up and jumped a bit when I heard a low groan next to me.

I smiled as I turned to see my sleeping boyfriend, arm draped over my waist protectively and face snuggled into my neck. I groomed through his hair but stopped when he shuffled a bit.

After observing him for a while longer, I ever so gently removed his lanky arm away from my waist. I pulled the covers over him as much as I can to keep him warm, caressing his cheek before hopping out of the bed.

I tiptoed downstairs, trying not to wake our dog that'd probably go insane barking. I slowly walked over to the kitchen and opened the fridge. The white light flashed in my eyes and I flinched a little.

I managed to grab a water bottle and take a couple sips before taking it upstairs with me.  I was about to leave the kitchen when a tall shadow of a man was seen walking down the stairs. My heart stopped and I swear my soul left my body. I screamed a little and hid behind a wall, only to find Heeseung peeking in and raising an eyebrow.

"You good, babe?" he asked, his voice gruff from his deep sleep. I took a deep sigh of relief and nodded.

"Why aren't you sleeping, dummy? You need youre rest. It's 2 in the morning." Heeseung said, pulling me into a gentle hug. His long arms wrapped around my small frame as I snuggled into his chest.

"I can't sleep." I said, closing my eyes as he drew calming circles on my back. He hummed in response. I took a deep breathe and relaxed in his arms, savoring the moment.

"What's going on?" he suddenly asked, breaking the calming silence. I shot my eyes open and rested my chin on his chest. He smiled down at me lovingly and tucked a piece of hair behind my ear.

"Exam scores." I murmured. I hid my face in his shirt and gritted my teeth of embarrassment.

"I know i'm making such a big deal out of nothing, but..." I trailed off. He only squeezed me tighter and placed a small peck on my head.

"You're not making a big deal out of anything, babe. You have every right to be nervous. I was the same way." Heeseung explained, his eyes drifting closed. I raised an eyebrow and looked back up at him.

"Mhm. It's normal. Stress overcomes you and it ruins everything. Even the necessities, like sleeping, for example." he said. I knew he was a year older than me, but I never noticed how nervous he was. Maybe he's just good at hiding his feelings.

"How come you never told me?"

"Because I always thought, "Men are men. They don't cry. They don't stress. They're big boys."" he said in a deep silly voice. I giggled and looked into this deep dreamy eyes, that stared off at the wall in front of us.

Upon hearing my small laugh, he looked at me like he just got a million dollars.

"Y/N, you're laugh is music to my ears." he said, resting his chin on my head. I blushed, something he can make me do so easily. Even though we've spent the last three years together, he never failed to make me flustered.

"Can we watch something?" I asked, running a hand up and down his arm.

"Oh fuck no, Y/N. You're sleeping." he said, taking my wrist and pulling me upstairs. I giggled softly and followed him up, a large yawn escaping my mouth.

We entered our bedroom and Heeseung fell on the bed immediately, shifting his eyes shut.

I chuckled and plopped on the spot next to him. He snaked a hand around my waist and pulled my close. He snuggled into my neck and placed a small kiss on my jaw.

"Sleep, Y/N. Sleep." Heeseung murmured tiredly. I sighed and closed my eyes, savoring the moment.

My exhaustion overcame me right away and I finally found myself asleep, this very night replaying in my head.
