Chapter 7: The Invitations

Marinette got up the next morning with 2 hours of sleep. Marinette couldn't fall asleep the night before rattling her brain.

FLASHBACK

Marinette watched as Cat noir hopped out her window, leaving as quickly as he came. Marinette was put in a trance. She had so many questions she wanted answers to.

Am I betraying Luka? Why was Cat being so flirty even though he has a girlfriend? Why did being in his arms feel so right?

"Hello! Earth to Marinette!" The little red kwami was waving her arms in front of Marinette's face, trying to wake her from her daydream.

Why couldn't I feel anything when Luka kissed me? I know Luka is attractive, he is smart and sweet and kind. But why didn't I feel anything?

Tikki continued to wake her arms in front of Marinette's face, starting to become concerned.

Why did Cat start calling me princess? He seemed so comfortable with me, yet he only met me a few times.

Why did it feel so right?

Tikki had enough as she pinched Marinette.

"TIKKI!" Marinette yelled. She realized how loud she was being and changed her voice to a whisper

"What was that for!"

"You were responded! It was like you were stuck in a trance!" Tikki put her hands on her hips. "I'm sorry but I had no choice."

"I'm sorry Tikki," Marinette responded. "I was just thinking"

Marinette looked back at the window that Cat had leapt through, staring for a little bit longer.

Marinette was finally in bed with Tikki sleeping quietly right next to her, but she couldn't keep her mind away from Luka and Cat.

Why did it feel so right?

END FLASHBACK

Marinette swiftly got ready. She was always late and she hated it.

It was often because of her duties as Ladybug, but she couldn't help but be resentful. She was grateful for Tikki but she had to constantly hide stuff from her friends and family and it was mentally draining.

She ran out the door trying to make it to school on time.

*Adrien's bedroom*

Adrien woke up exhausted just like Marinette.

He felt horrible about making Marinette invisible. He couldn't believe he had been so blind.

He didn't know how he would make it up to her but he was going to.

He quickly got ready and rushed off to school, hoping to see Marinette.

Adrien stared out the window the whole ride, his mind not leaving Marinette.

It was only one night but he had seen a whole new side of Marinette he didn't even know existed.

She had been in love with him, and he didn't even notice.

It was so fun to hang out with her. He thought.

It was so nice to have his arms around her, it felt so right.

Why did it feel so right?
