I never noticed

Chapter 5: The Date

*In class*
Throughout class, Adrien couldn't help look back at Marinette.

Alya continued to shake Marinette awake as she couldn't help but dose off.

Adrien was really worried about her.

Since starting school him and Marinette weren't the closest but he still cared about her. She had helped him get to the movie theater before his bodyguard became akumitized and it meant more to him then she knew.

She was so selfless and would always do her best to help everyone around her, and it was about time everyone started caring for Marinette.

Her elbow was down on her desk as her hand held her face up and squished her cheek. Adrien giggled at her expression.

Adrien wasn't very good at reading social situations and in the time that he had know Marinette, she was known to be very clumsy and often stuttered around him.

He always thought of her as just a friend, but looking at Marinette in this vulnerable state made him blush. He quickly turned away and realized that he was probably staring at her for longer then he should've been.

Nino punched Adrien's arm. Knowing Nino had saw him staring at Marinette made him blush even harder.

He heard ruffling behind him as Alya woke her up. He pushed his feelings aside and finally tried to pay attention to the lesson.

*one week later in Marinette's bedroom*

Marinette was francitcally searching through her closet pulling out clothes and throwing them on her floor.

"Tikki what am I even supposed to wear to a date at an ice skating rink?" Marinette said continuing to revenge through her closet. "I can't wear a dress, I can't wear a skirt"

Tikki tried to fly up to Marinette, dodging her clothes as she threw them towards the ground.

"Aha! This!" Marinette said pulling out a long sleeve pink t-shirt.

"You're going to look beautiful no matter what!" Tikki reassured Marinette.

"Thanks Tikki" Marinette smiled

*in front of the icing skating rink*

Marinette was terrified beyond belief. She had always been comfortable around Luka, but at that moment she felt like she could faint.

A million thoughts were racing through her head as she entered the building. She walked through the door, there she spotted Luka looking as handsome as ever.

She blushed, she was incredibly nervous but seeing Luka made her feel better. She added a pep to her step as she walked up to Luka.

"Hey Marinette" Luka said with a wide and radiant smile. You could tell he had been waiting for this day for a long time.

"Shall we?" Luka said holding out his hand, waiting for Marinette to grab it. "We shall" Marinette said with a giggle, gladly accepting Luka's open hand.

They walked in together hand in hand and hand finding a seat close to the ice. It was hard for Marinette to believe she had waited this long to go on a date with him.

In the past, Luka had made it clear that he had strong feelings for Marinette. Marinette had been so lovestruck by Adrien, that she felt bad about never even taking a second to consider Luka.

His hair was placed disorderly but it perfectly accentuated his jawline. She glanced down at his face to notice his electrifying blue eyes. Luka turned and noticed her staring at him. He giggled and pointed to her skates.

Without realizing it Marinette had managed to tie both of her skates together. Luka gladly bent down in front of her to untie them. She was embarrassed and it reminded her previous trip to the ice skating rink with Adrien and Kagami. She shuddered at the memory, but let it fade away. Once he finished untying her shoes, he got up and offered her his hand once again.

They glided across the ice with ease having a blast. She had noticed how skilled Luka was jumping into the air and landing back on the ice effortlessly. This was another thing she hadn't notice at from their last skating trip.

"How did you get so good at skating Luka?" Marinette asked. She had acquired a lot of new skills thanks to her constant battles as Ladybug, but she still couldn't do tricks like he could.

"When I was younger my mom bought Juleka and I skates so that when the water where our boat was froze over ,we could ice skate." Luka said landing another difficult jump. "You should see Juleka, she is much better then me." Luka smiled.

"Tell me more" Marinette said intrigued.

They spent the rest of their time sharing stories, laughing, and overall enjoying each other's company. Luka had said multiple stories that knocked Marinette on her butt with laughter.

She hadn't had this much fun in a long time. When it was time to go they packed up their skates and walked through the exit of the rink.

"That was so much fun" Marinette said giggling, reminiscing upon a story Luka told her earlier. "It was" Luka said laughing along with her.

Once their bodies collided with the cold outdoors they knew it was time for them to part ways.

"I have to go this way." Marinette said pointing to the left. "I'm super glad we did this" She said with a wide smile.

"Me too" Luka said. Luka began to inch closer to Marinette.

Marinette's cheeks were beet red and her heart stopped.

He stopped, seeing her shocked expression, "Should I stop?" Luka said with an apologetic tone.

Marinette didn't know what to do or how to react. She was numb.

Instead of using words she shook her head up and down.

Luka finally leaned in and planted his lips on hers.

She felt the world around her stop. She didn't know how to react, she didn't know what she felt.

She didn't feel, anything.

They parted after a few sort seconds.

"I'll see you around, Marinette." Luka said with a wide smile as he walked away.

"Y-Yeah, see you around"

Marinette began to walk home with no grasp on reality.

She didn't know how to feel.

It was super dark out and she was almost near the bakery.

She hear a ruffle in the bushes and instantly stopped. Marinette saw the shadow of a man turned around facing the bush.

She clenched her fists, getting ready to strike if this person in the shadows was a possible threat.

Her heart began racing and her breathing sped up.

The man quickly turned around, scaring Marinette.

Without any time to procress the identity of the man Marinette punched him square in the face, knocking him off his feet.

The light from the street lamps light up the man's face.

"Me-OUCH!" he screamed.

And there lying on the ground was Cat noir.
