You were there again,
As charming as you always have,
With the same bright brown eyes
and your silly little smile. You were there again,
With your playful voice,
and your strong open arms,
ready to embrace me again.
You were there again,
With the scent I've realized I've missed,
At that very moment
I've realized I belonged. And it made me terrified,
Realizing the walls I've built
Over the years seemed so fickle
That it'd break by your mere presenceYou were just a dream,
A crippling dream that made
waking up can make me feel so miserable.
A dream with my senses all awake.
You were just a dream, a nightmare.
And I hated how beautiful you were.
I hated how I felt like I've belonged there at that moment.
You were nothing but a dream.
But you were also the reality I'm missing.
