"Oh poor chap!! Why would she lead him on?" a student, named Jason grumbled from his seat, producing laughs from the boys.
"Really Jason?? She never said she wants to marry him, she asked for help. It's not our fault if men assume otherwise." Shefali rolled her eyes at him.
"Well than why did she send him a ring? It could have been anything... Why a ring?" Jason argued back, and Shehnaaz raises a brow at her bickering student.
"Why are you so bitter? Did a girl lead you on?" Shehfali teased him.
"Okay, Shehfali and Jason that's enough." Shehnaaz interrupted them, and they both stick out their tongues at each other, "Both your points are valid, but the thing is many claimed that she was telling the truth, but who knows, maybe she did lead him on.... Because she was desperate to be free from her brother's demands and not because she had some nefarious intentions....but her brother was furious at her scheming, as a punishment agreed to send her to Attila so she he can claim her as his wife, but.. "-Shehnaaz looked at her students, who were listening to her with devoted attention -"I know everyone see Attila as an unwashed, wild and uneducated barbarian, but he wasn't a bad man as he later relented and let Honoria go...."
"And then she married some boring Roman aristocrat after all... " Jason said.
"Aww..seems like hero of historical romance books.." shefali remarked making everyone laugh.
Shehnaaz stops laughing, "Okay guys, that's it for today, I have already emailed your assignments on Napoleon,..... And Chris please don't waste those 8000 words just to explain how Napoleon was once attacked by a horde of..... Bunnies."
"But that was true...Miss Sahni. The emperor had requested that a rabbit hunt be arranged for himself and his men. His chief of staff set it up and had men round up reportedly 3,000 rabbits for the occasion. Then the rabbits were released from their cages, the hunt was ready to go......At least that was the plan!" Chris said.
"And we were taught that waterloo was his greatest defeat.. " Shefali said.
"I hear ya, Chris, but I need some important and serious facts that don't give me a fit of laughter in the middle of a teacher's room."
