"I know it's a lot to take in" Arjun said while sitting on bed where Shehnaaz was staring out of the window for a while, deep in her thoughts; thinking about her brother's words and what will happen when the promise that She and her brother gave to their grandma a long time ago will be completed.
The consequences of that one promise.
"you know I almost forget about that promise; until yesterday, when I got a call from them" he said making her look at him suddenly with tears in her eyes.
Looking at her with tears in her eyes he crouched low on the ground in front of her, while she sat on bed. he grabbed both her hands and assured "hey, kiddo, don't worry. When I said that I'll be there for you always, I meant each and every word"
"veere....woh. It's just- I am just afraid" Shehnaaz took a deep breathe.
"He is right, Shehnaaz" they both looked up at Anita and Krish who were standing at the door. Anita entered her room and sat beside Shehnaaz giving her a loving embrace and said with determination "we are your family Naazo, and we won't let anything wrong happen to you. If at the end of the day you decide that you can't fulfill this promise; then no one can ever force you baby" Arjun looked at his wife with all the love of this world, and wondered that how fortunate he is to have such an understanding and loving person as his life partner, who not only gave unconditional love to him but also loved his baby sister like her own daughter. Anita looked at her husband with same love and smiled.
Suddenly Krish stomped in the room and dumped a box in Shehnaaz's lap, she looked down at the box and asked "yeh kya hai krish?". The little monster rolled his eyes at her buaa and said "my Halloween chocolates, you were being sad so I thought ki isse pehle aap pura ghar depress kar do main apko khush kardoon" he said feigning indifference but deep down the little guy just wanted his buaa to be happy again.
Shehnaaz looked at him with a teary smile and hugged him, while smothering his face with kisses "awww mera puchu, tuh pyaar toh mujhse bohot karta hai" she said laughing tearfully while he tried break free from his buaa's loving embrace "oh god, stop it" his parents laughed at their son and felt proud of their sweet boy for his attempt to cheer his aunt.
While looking at the three most important people of her life she realized that she does not need to think about her past, she does not need to worry about her future; she just needs to embrace her present with open arms for better or for worst because she knew everything can change but her family will always be there for her.
She smiled sadly remembering about her dadi and knew even if she was scared she can't run from her promise. A promise that will change her life forever.
