I carefully looked around the corner and saw something I would never forget. A group of men beating up another man...

.

.

.

I gasped slightly at the sight. Four men surrounded an old man, who was lying on the ground helplessly. He looked like he already got hit quite a few times, and even in the dark, you could see blood seeping out of his fresh wounds.

I quickly put my head back, and carefully breathed air out through my mouth, that I didn't even realize I was holding in. My hands were shaking, as I heard another scream, and a loud sound of someone being hit.

I carefully put my head back around the corner, and I tried to identify the 4 men standing around the wounded man.

The one hitting the man was a bit on the short side, but still taller than me. They were all dressed in black and had their faces hidden very well.

The second man was standing next to the one that was hitting, and it seems he was talking to the wounded man.

The two other men stood a bit at the side and watched the scene in front of them. I tried to listen to what they were saying, so I slowly turned my head, so I could hear them better.

''Still not giving up, are you?'' I saw the lips of the man who was talking to the old man moving, which indicated he was the one who said that sentence. He had a deep voice, and it sounded kinda scary.

The man on the ground chuckled a bit but immediately groaned when the short guy hit him in his stomach. The two men at the side chuckled a bit but their laughter died almost immediately.

One of the men who was standing on the side came closer. He looked like the tallest of the four. He bent down until he was at the same level as the man on the ground. He grabbed his chin and made him look at him.

''Listen, you thief, we could've done this the easy way, but it looks like you don't want to. This is your last chance. Where is the money?'' The tall man seemed impatient by the way the old man was behaving.

The old man looked at him for a while, before he pulled his head out of the grip of the tall man and growled in a silent, but intimidating voice: ''I will never tell you. Over my dead body will I betray my family.''

The tall man glared at him but stood up again. He looked at the mysterious man that was still standing against the wall. He pushed himself off the wall, came closer to the old man, and looked down at him. ''Any last wishes then?'' he asked.

I was confused. What is he talking about? This isn't the time to be talking about wishes. I looked carefully and saw how the mysterious man, took something out of the pocket of his black coat.

The wounded man's eyes widened, but he quickly composed his gesture. I squinted my eyes and tried to see what the mysterious man had just taken out of his pocket. I focused on the object and I couldn't believe my eyes after I recognized it.

A gun. Cold sweat began running down my neck and I gasped silently while I took a step backward. While doing that I bumped into a trash can, that met the ground with a loud bump. I held my breath in.

''Who is there?'' A loud voice filled the silent sky.

Run. That was the first thing that came to mind. Without looking back, I ran away as fast I could.

''COME BACK HERE!'' the same man yelled. I didn't stop, I just run out of the alleyway. I heard someone yell a command, and quick footsteps behind me.

''I. Am. So. Stupid.'' Was the only thought that filled my mind while I ran faster.
