THAT MORNING, IVY DECIDED TO confront Edward about her suspicions about what he is. She also wanted to know more about 'Cedric.' Maybe after they talk, it'll make more sense.Once they got to school, Ivy told Beau she would meet him later, after school. Ivy doesn't tell him why because she believes that he doesn't like Edward that much for some reason. He's never been this protective over her in any of her past realationships. She doesn't know... Maybe she's just overthinking it.
Ivy stands near where the Cullens usually park their car so she can be there when he arrives. Not a second later, Edward pulled into the parking spot. His family quickly gets out of the car as Ivy approaches him. Once Edward exits the vehicle, he automatically sees her walking towards him.
Once she gets to him, he smiles as he looks down at her. "I need to talk to you about something," Ivy says, changing his expression to curiosity.
"What is it?" He asks.
"Let's talk somewhere else; it's important," Ivy says, turning towards the forest behind the school. She walks towards the woods, with Edward soon following.
Dreaded realization takes over his features.
Ivy walks further into the vast forest until she can't see the school anymore, just trees. She turns around to face Edward, looking into his amber eyes. "How old are you?" Ivy asks flatly.
"Seventeen," he says with little to no expression.
"How long have you been seventeen?" Ivy asks, still not looking away from his black eyes.
"Too long."
There was a long pause of just looking into each other's eyes. He breaks the silence by saying, "You know what I am, so just say it. Say it."
"You're a vampire," she responds.
"Are you afraid?" He asks, stepping closer.
"No." She steps closer, taking him by surprise. "I know you wouldn't hurt me. Not on purpose."
"Why do you have so much faith that I wouldn't hurt you?" He asks curiously, leaning his head back slightly.
"If you wanted to hurt me, you would've done it by now. Plus, I trust you," Ivy tells him. By now, they're only a few feet apart.
"Is it because of our visions?" he asks carefully.
"Yes and no." He pauses, waiting for her to elaborate. "I can see the connection that Cedric and Jennifer had and how they worked so well together. But I can also see that we have an untold story just waiting to be made," Ivy huffs a smile and looks down and says, "I'm so sorry. That was... incredibly cheesy."
"Yes, but I get it." He nods, causing her to look up at him. Ivy noticed he wasn't as tense as he was a few seconds ago. "I want to show you something. You can ask more questions when we're there," He says, taking her hand and walking higher up the tree-filled mountain.
She can feel how cold his hand is against hers as he pulls her away with him. "Do you mind if I run you up?" He asks, stopping his tracks.
"What? You mean like carry me?" she asks, unsure.
"You can piggyback ride. It'll be faster," he suggests with a smile.
"Uh, sure."
"Okay. You're gonna want to hold on." And with that, he pulls her quickly onto his back, so she links her legs around his waist and holds onto his shoulders.
"Whoa," she says in surprise at how quickly he pulled her up.
"Um, remember to breathe," He says, getting ready to run.
