"HONEY?" IVY FEELS A HAND rub her shoulder. She hums in response, not wanting to wake up yet, tucking her head into the crook of her boyfriend's neck.

"Ive, your mom is here, love," Edward tells Ivy.

She slowly sat up at that. Renée is crouched before her daughter, her right hand on Ivy's shoulder. "Oh, thank goodness. You're alright," she sighs in relief as they all stand.

Ivy hugs her mom before pulling away and looking back to her boyfriend. "Mama, this is Edward."

"This is the boy?" She asks Ivy with a knowing smirk.

"Yeah," the girl gives a small smile as she wraps her arm around Edward's waist and leans into him a little. "This is my guy." Ivy looks up at him as they share a look of adoration before Ivy looks back at her mother.

"Hello," Edward nods kindly, his hand resting on the small of Ivy's back. "It's a pleasure to meet you. I wish it were under better circumstances." He holds out his free hand for her to shake which she does with both hands.

"Of course," She agrees with a sad smile. "Do you know how he is?" She looks between the couple, awaiting an answer.

Still, in the process of waking up, Ivy take a moment to remember what she was told earlier."The um, doctors said he will be okay. He got a few stitches and is currently getting a cast for his broken leg."

Rene nods looking down, her eyes becoming a little watery but she blinks a few times to prevent tears from flowing. "Wha- um," her voice cracks so she clears her throat and tries again. "What happened?"

"Dad probably told you by now that Beau and I ran away." Ivy looks at her full of guilt. She nods, clenching her jaw as she waits for her to continue. Ivy looks to Edward, not having a believable story in mind to tell her.

"My dad took Jacob and I to the hotel they were staying at, hoping to convince them to come back with us to Forks. Ivy and I were talking in the other room as Jacob tried to speak with Beau. We heard a clash and glass breaking and went into the hallway. Beau had attempted to run down the staircase and fell through a window and down two stories," Edward informs her softly. Ivy looks up at him, a little surprised. He lied so easily that Ivy probably would have believed it if she hadn't been there herself.

"Oh my goodness," her mom gasps raising her hand to hover over her mouth in shock.

"Hi," Jacob paces up to them. He shares a look with Edward and Ivy, silently assuring them that he heard the story and would stick with it. "Rene, it's been a while," he grins and gives her a side hug.

"Holy-, wow. Jacob?!" She looks up at him. "You grew up, kid!" She chuckles, backing up a little to really look him over.

"For Beaufort Swan?" a nurse calls out from the front desk to the room.

Edward pecks Ivy's forehead before whispering in her hair, "I'll be here when you get back." Ivy nods before pulling away from him.

Jacob, Rene, and Ivy walk up to the front desk together. "He's currently resting but you can see him now. He's in room 109," The nurse tells them.

"Alright, thank you," Renée tells her gratefully before taking Ivy's hand.

They pace down the hall, looking past each door at the number labels for the right room. They eventually found room 109 and went in. As the nurse had said, Beau is sleeping, his back support being an overwhelming amount of pillows.

Renée paces over to the left side of the bed before sitting on it and taking her son's hand, giving it a loving squeeze. Jacob and Ivy just stand in their spots, watching the fragile-looking boy as his mom brushes some hair away from his face.
