"Come on! The band's about to perform," Gun grabbed New by the arm and dragged him towards thel school ground.
At the center was a makeshift stage where the band was gonna perform.
He had always been excited about the band's performance. Seeing Tay hold his guitar like it was his most prized possession just made him fall in love with him even more.
But that day was different. He just got his heart broken and he might not be able to control his feelings the moment Tay started playing. He didn't want others to see him crying.
"Gun, I'll just come back. I-I left something in the room," he lied but he really wanted to save himself from another heartache, especially when he saw Tay step on the stage with a red shirt, the color assigned to those who were in a relationship.
"Okay, come back immediately!" Gun replied as he jogged his way back to the building.
He heaved a sigh of relief when he entered the classroom and found it empty. At least, he could enjoy his solitude and cry his heart out if he wanted to.
He put on his earbuds and played some music on the highest volume as he didn't want to hear the music coming from outside. He was in the middle of listening to some rock song when Gun called him.
He ignored it at first, but Gun called him incessantly.
"Hello?" he had no choice but to answer as he could no longer enjoy the music he was listening to.
"Where the hell are you??"
"I, my stomach's aching. I won't be able to come back there."
"You have to! Tay's singing for the first time!"
He stilled. He had never heard Tay sing.
"A-and then?" he replied nonchalantly. He didn't want Gun to notice the excitement in his voice.
"But. Wait, is he looking for someone in the crowd?"
"Huh?"
"I mean, it's been minutes since he stood in front but he's just holding the mic."
"I-I'll just stay here. I'm not feeli-"
"Oh shit! You better come here, New!!"
"But, why? I me-," he asked in utter confusion, but his words were immediately cut off.
"Just fucking come here!"
New furrowed his eyebrows as Gun abruptly ended the call. Curious as to what he meant, he went out of the classroom and headed back to the grounds.
