Hoseok didn't want to go to Jeongguk for everything regarding Taehyung, but Jeongguk was his self proclaimed wingman and Hoseok wasn't really sure what to make of the situation.
"Wait, wait, wait." Jeongguk held his hands up. "Let me recap. So, you asked him why he doesn't date, he answered, you complimented him and he blushed, and he believes in soulmates?" Jeongguk shook his head in disbelief. "Insane."
"Mhm." Hoseok thought of the way Taehyung's cheeks became rosy pink and the way he had furrowed his brows, determined not to look Hoseok's way. "Insane indeed."
"What did you say to him to make him blush?" Jeongguk asked.
"Uh, I'm not sure that I—"
"Soulmate thing. I understand, it's confidential and all—"
"Just because he believes in it doesn't mean it's true, Jeongguk."
"I'm positive your heartbeat has felt out of rhythm around him! C'mon, think hard, Hobi!"
Just half an hour ago, Hoseok's heartbeat didn't match with his mood, but that was probably just coincidence. He might have even imagined it.
He shook his head. "Nope."
Jeongguk slumped his shoulders. "Next time, then." Then his face lit up. "Speaking of next time, aren't the Painting and Art classes going on a field trip next week?"
"Huh?" Hoseok tilted his head. "We are?"
"Rumor says." Jeongguk waved his hand nonchalantly. "But you know what this means, right? You and Taehyung get to spend more time together. You should make him fall in love with you!"
"I'm satisfied being just friends, Jeongguk." As long as he got to know someone as beautiful as Taehyung, why did it matter if he dated him or not? Besides, Hoseok didn't know how to date. He was sure he'd just mess it up.
"Well, if I were you, I wouldn't be satisfied in the friend zone!"
"If you were me, I would be worried for this country's future."
Jeongguk just laughed, putting on one of his leather jackets. "Alright, I gotta go. A friend and I are gonna get ice cream. Try to make another move on Taehyung while I'm gone, yeah?"
Hoseok rolled his eyes as Jeongguk shut the door.

It turned out the rumours were true. A few days later, Hoseok got a stack of papers, stapled together, all of which told him the details of the trip.
It was on Sunday, which was tomorrow. They'd be going to this famous museum right outside of the city—which meant a 4 hour bus ride to and back. It was all to be done in a day. The Painting class and Art class were combining for this.
Hoseok stood in front of the empty backpack on his bed.
"What am I supposed to take?"
His phone was propped up on his bedside table, open on a videocall with Seokjin.
As Seokjin went on listing things, Hoseok fit them all in his backpack. Once he was done, he zipped it up and put it on the floor, next to the door.
"The trip's tomorrow." Hoseok sighed. ". . . Should I be nervous?"
"You're not?" Seokjin asked. Hoseok grabbed his phone and sat down on his bed as Seokjin continued. "I thought you'd be a nervous mess, Hobi, considering Taehyung is on this trip as well."
"Well, maybe before, but now. . ." Hoseok shrugged. "I don't feel as nervous around him any more. It's. . . easier. More comfortable."
"Awww. We're past the butterflies stage already."
