After getting back to my house and putting Chrys to sleep with the careful eye of Telphy to watch over her I walked back outside to confront Peter.

"Look I-"

"It's alright. I'll go now" Peter said. He walked up to me for the last time and kissed my cheek then left.

I watched him walk off until he was out of sight. After he was gone, I turned around and walked into the living room where Chrys was lying on the couch, sleeping.

"Evelyn?" Telphy asked me with wide eyes.

"Hm?" I looked over at her.

"I remember Peter." She said before she got up and walked up to her room.

"STOP!!! DON'T!!!" I screamed as Peter hurled me off his shoulder and into the pool, clad in an expensive black dress.

As soon as I hit the water it was like a cold slap on the back. I splashed my way to the surface and squinted evily at Peter.

"How dare you." I threatened.

We were at a release party for his mother's new book at there mansion untill he decided he was bored and dragged me outside with him.

He laughed and started untying his tie then proceeded to unbutton his shirt.

"Don't get in help me out!" I shrieked and started swimming frantically towards the shallow end where the stairs were.

I heard a huge splash and water came rushing at me. Oh no. I started to swim as fast as I could before large hands grabbed me and pulled me back. My back met his bare chest and his arms came around me.

"You love me." He stated before kissing my temple. I struggled to get away from him.

"You wish" I laughed and rolled my eyes still struggling. He wrapped his arms around me tighter and started to kiss my neck. I giggled and swatted at him.

"Baby" He groaned as I splashed him. "Fine. Let's play it that way"

He let go of me and I turned around to splash him but suddenly he was gone. I noticed to late that he had swam under water. Then he came up to the surface with me ontop of him. I was sitting on his shoulders and he laughed at my scream.

"Let's play" he said before ducking under water with me still on him then shooting straight up, fast. I laughed and water got in my mouth. He kept doing that untill I fell off.

After falling off I swam up to the surface right in front of him. We both stared at each other.

"I love you." Peter breathed and swam closer closing the gap between us.

"I love you too" I said back and wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him.

He ran a hand through my wet and tangled hair while kissing me back then pulled back a little.

"Promise me it will always be like this. Promise me you will always love me" He whispered.

"I stared deep into his eyes and leaned in closer whispering back to him.

"I promise"

Two days later after the incident with Chrys and Peter, I was sitting on my bed going through a scrapbook Peter and I made. I never could bring myself to throw it away. A small tear slipped down my cheek as I bit my lip.

How could he be back? He moved int he first place because his mom wanted to be closer to her publisher for her books. But now?

A knock came at my door and I stood up and slid the book under my bed. I walked over to the door and opened it to see my mother there.

"Evelyn. I'm going out on a date and I need your advice." She asked looking desperate.

"Mine?" I laughed

"Yes your's. Now help me find out what to wear." She stated.

I shrugged. "Okay sure"

She lead me down stairs and into her room then her closet. I picked through all her clothes before coming across a navy dress with lace sleeves. The dress cut low but it looked alright.

"What about this?" I asked my mom holding it up for her. Her eyebrows buried together in thought for a while before finally nodding.

"Sure"

When she was all done, I stood with her at the door.

"Wow mom, you look great." I smiled.

"Thank you." She smiled and looked down at herself.

Her dark brown hair was curled and all pushed to one side. She had a bright red lipstick on which made her green eyes shine. Her dress fit perfectly and she had on black heels.

A horn beeped from outside.

"Well that's my date." She said and kissed my forehead. "Watch Telphy and I'll be back before 11."

I watched her walk out and smiled. It wasn't the first time she made an effort to start dating after my dad left us but it was the first time she actually looked like she was looking forward to it.
