Cleo's POV

My eyes widen at Leon's statement, taking a little step back and retracting my hand from his bicep. "The lighting..." He raised an eyebrow questioningly. "It was probably just the lighting." He sighed giving a little nod but the look in his eyes, which gave the look of not wanting my hand to have left his arm, made the mental barriers build their walls higher. I turned quickly on my heel, walking over to Ada where she had leant against a chain link fence with her arms crossed. She gave a small smirk as I passed, uncrossing her arms and following my lead out of the gun shop Leon's footsteps following her. Ada spoke softly, mainly addressing Leon as she spoke of the Umbrella Corporation. "heard of the Umbrella Corporation? They're a pharmaceutical company secretly making bioweapons. They have a virus – it turns people into indestructible monsters." I give a small shiver as she talked about this virus, something about Umbrella had always disturbed me and to find they were behind all of this? Well let's say I wasn't too surprised. Leon sighed, quietly mumbling "that explains the horrible things we've seen." My eyes slowly wondered over to Leon's form in the dark, the rain had soaked us both, but we didn't care. All that mattered right now was getting out of this damned city.... Alive. "And that's why I'm looking for Annette Birkin. She's the one at Umbrella responsible for unleashing the virus." Ada paused, looking straight at Leon, feeding him more lies he was going to ultimately believe. "I'm going to bring her down." Ada had then jumped down a few ledges and walked towards a sewer drain. "This is how we get to Annette." She announced, her gaze falling on my silently. This bitch was honestly asking for a fight, one she'd get if she carried on looking at me like that. Like she was still deciding if I was worth the trouble, anger rose in me causing Ada to smirk. "Hmm... Maybe it is the lighting." Mimicking what I had said to Leon moments earlier, more anger flooded my system as Leon caught up to us.

Leon's eyes scanned between me and Ada. He then pulled gently on my arm bringing my focus to him, anger slowly dissipating as I looked into his steel eyes. "You're shoulder..." his gaze flickered from my eyes to my shoulder, making me give it a subconscious roll. "The bite?... I don't feel any pain if that's what you're asking." He gave a small shake of his head, moving closer to my ear whispering as to let himself be heard by Ada. "The wound... its just a scar." Despite the words he spoke to me, my whole face and body began to grow warm. "Don't be silly, I was only bit an hour or two ago..." I whispered by to him, to which he shrugged slowly pulling back. "It's a scar... that's all-I'll say." He then stood up straight and let go of me, then moved over to Ada looking up at the sewer opening. "based on what you've said, the sewer seems fitting." He said, his gun and flashlight trained down the sewer making me give a small shiver. "well said." Ada said with a small smile towards Leon. "After you" She motioned to Leon to go down the tunnel first. Leon grumbled a small "gee... thanks." Before making his way slowly into the sewer, allowing both me and Ada to slowly make our way after him. I had my gun in my hands just like Leon whereas Ada walked without a care in the world as if she knew she would survive this whole ordeal. It irked me in more ways than one and I hated myself for feeling like that. "Can't imagine a real scientist being down here..." Leon said, his light moving side to side as he walked, allowing for me and Ada to see briefly in front of us. "According to HQ..." Even in the dim light I could tell her gaze was on me as she spoke causing me to glare back at her.  "This leads right into umbrellas secret facility." Liar... I thought. I gave a small shake of my head and then turned to gaze at Leon's back, my mind wandering back to the zombie bite I had received. It's a scar... was Leon said true... did my body just heal? Just like that? And if it did why wasn't I infected? Why wasn't I turning into one of those... those zombies? I'm brought from my thoughts when Leon speaks up again. "come on. Sewers are run by the city. How could they have a facility... without the authorities knowing?" He stopped slightly, head facing both mine and Ada's direction and clearly asking both of us. Ada sighed softly, shrugging and continued to walk. She motioned to the sewer around us slightly before answering Leon's question. "welcome to corporate America. Umbrella has controlled raccoon city for years." Suddenly the ground above our heads began to shake, a few pieces of rubble falling around us. "Jesus... That an earthquake?" Leon asked, looking over in my direction to see if I was okay. "I sure as hell hope so..." I said back to him with a little smile and a show of my hand to show him I was okay. We both continued to follow Ada, as louder rumbling was heard all around us. Leon turned his head slightly, looking down a section of the sewer and frowned then rubbed one of his eyes. "What the hell....!?" He asked, making my head turn as a large figure retreated in the distance. "Stay sharp!" Ada said to both of us, still leading. "god only knows what's down here..." she shudders silently.
