Cleo's POV

My eyes widened as William mutated more, he stood on two feet now with two arms on either side. I could have turned into something like this... Both me and Leon split up running to either side of the room and began shooting. The mutant turned to me, making my eyes widen as I quickly reloaded my gun and ducted just in time. The mutants hand stuck in the metal behind me as I looked down at the water near my feet. Violet... Everything else around me was dark but my eyes clearly stood out even in my reflection glowing, it made me wonder how many people the man in front of me, his wife and Wesker had tried this virus on before my cells accepted it and I grew angry. The mutant then pulled its hand quickly out of the metal and spun on its heel, smacking Leon into the metal causing him to groan out in pain, no doubt starting to feel the wounds that he had acquired over the night. I stood up, gun in hand as I began to shoot at the things head, unloading all my bullets but I didn't care. Having finished the final clip of the gun, the mutant turned quickly as I screamed, running at it and pulling out my knife jumping onto its back and stabbing at the gross yellow eyes hard and fast, the world around me blurred as I slashed at each eye making the mutant give and ear-piercing scream in agony. The mutant began to fall to one leg where more eyes exploded from its back making me slash at them quickly with my knife before it snapped making me growl and throw it, then grab the remaining eyes and pulling them hard and fast from the mutants back yellow exploded everywhere as the mutant began to bleed out and die. My growling subsided as the body of the mutant fell finally dead, I looked up my eyes catching Leon's, who had finally pulled himself to a standing position with his gun in hand as the fear fell from his eyes and was replaced with understanding. "I'm sorry..." I mumbled as he smiled then held out a hand to me which I took and used to stand up with. "We... should keep this virus to ourselves... Other Umbrella employees could have survived and be after you if they found out. But what you did was amazing Cleo... you were like a blur you moved that fast." My eyes widened as I thought back to my time in S.T.A.R.S and then to my captain. "Wesker..." Leon and I had begun to jog to the little lift. "Who's Wesker?" My eyes widened again before I sighed. "it's a long story, maybe one I can tell on our date?" He smiled and nodded as the elevator got to the top and back to Annette. "Annette!" I ran over and dropped to my knees quickly, putting pressure on the wound her husband had created. Leon followed me quickly, squinting at the wound. "Jesus, that looks bad." Annette hissed as my hands met her wound, but she smiled then looked up at Leon with a small nod. "Feels worse, believe me." Leon shuffled around slipping down next to me as I worked to help Annette's wound. "Look," he started making both me and Annette look at him. "about what you said... I don't know how much I believe it, but I'm willing to –" Annette coughed, moving away from the antiseptic spray that I had used. "Just tell me you'll destroy that G sample." Leon frowned from the corner of my eye standing up slowly. "No. its evidence. It's going to the FBI." Annette looked up to Leon, straining lightly. "You trust that bitch?" My eyes moved from her to Leon as he frowned more. "What's that supposed to mean?" Annette coughed, pushing me back slightly making me sway and turn back to face her. "She's not FBI, she's a mercenary." Hmm... that explains somethings. "She's gonna sell it – The G-Virus is gonna go to the highest bidder." She looked at me, slipping down the wall slowly and grabbed my hand. "And you, Cleo... She has orders to collect you as well." Leon frowned more, shaking his head. "That's bullshit." Annette's grip on me loosened, as she slipped into a laying position coughing more blood up. "I hope you're right... but if the G-virus... gets into the wrong hands..." My eyes watched as her breathing became shallow as she closed her eyes due to the pain. "Annette..." She opens one eyes slowly, looking into my own eyes. "What we did Cleo... I'm so sorry... but when you came to us you were dying... and Wesker he... he saw potential in you." She slowly pulled off a locket around her neck and placed it into my hand. "My daughter... is around here somewhere if you see her... Please give this to her Cleo. And watch over her." I nod slowly, placing the locket into my pocket and stood up and left the room with Leon. As we travelled back to the elevator the system spoke loudly. "Attention: Self – destruct sequence initiated. Use the Central Elevator to evacuate immediately to the bottom – level train platform." My eyes widen and I turned to Leon he gave a small nod and we both broke into a sprint.
