Leon's POV
I slowly look over to Cleo as she messes with the gun in her hand. Cleo was FBI, so was the other woman... why did Cleo seem so shocked to see her? Did she not expect others in her field to be here too? Looking for their missing agent? Cleo stands up quickly making me come away from my questions as she frowns looking at the door the woman went through. "Do not trust her Leon... I don't actually know who she is, it is highly unlikely that she is really FBI." My eyebrows raise slightly, throwing my hands on my hips, "what makes you say that Miss FBI, her badge looked real, just like yours. So if I can't trust her I shouldn't trust you." She finishes fiddling with her gun, frowning hard. "Three bullets" she mumbles then turns to me. "Leon, if I wanted to kill you I would have already. This is not the place nor the time to be turning on me. I saved your ass, twice. Remember that rookie." My eyes harden at her harsh words. "Whatever." I shove past her and towards where the other FBI agent went to, not even caring if Cleo was following me. I slowly made my way through the maze of halls, coming upon some cells. "Hello?" A voice called to us making me giving Cleo a look before quickly making our way over to the man. "Hey" Both me and Cleo said to the man. He stood up moving towards the bars, making me take a small step back and hide Cleo with my body slightly. "I don't believe it! Real humans." He rested his head on the cold metal smiling slightly at Cleo making me squint at him. "Hello humans." I move forward again, relaxing my posture. "You been here long?" The man smiled again, looking over my shoulder to Cleo. "Long enough. Are we the last ones alive?" He asks quietly, making me look at Cleo and shaking my head. "No, no there's a few of us..." The man nodded, moving back slightly. "Oh.... that's good news, I guess... unless, of course, Irons sent you." I perk up at this, grabbing the metal between us. "Irons...? You mean Chief Irons? Is he still around?" Cleo gave a small 'tch' noise behind me. "Who cares?" She asked making the man nod at her. "I agree with the lady. Hopefully, he's somebody's dinner by now." I raised my eyebrow slightly, frowning "What do you mean by that?" Cleo sighs, giving a little laugh. "he's probably the bastard that locked him up in there." I looked at Cleo, raising my eyebrows at her this time. "Well, I'm sure he had a good reason." The man smiles at this, shaking his head slowly, lighting a cigarette "he did." he mumbles taking a long drag before crushing the cigarette under his foot and letting the smoke out of his mouth directly at Cleo making her cough quietly. "I was about to blow the whistle on his dirty ass." Cleo smiled nodding, still waving the smoke from her face. "I'd have done the same thing too, I guess." Suddenly all of our heads turn towards a low scrapping noise. "Hey!" The man shouts making my attention turn to him as Cleo begins to make her way towards the hallway we came from her gun raised and ready. "I'll make you a deal... Unlock this cell and i will give you this." he holds up the lanyard around his neck, fear beginning to cloud his eyes which plead with me. "There's no other way outta that parking garage! Believe me!" He takes a step back as Cleo came back to my side. "we should let him out leon." she whispers lowly making me shake my head turning my face back towards the mystery man. " Sorry... I can't do that. I have to talk to the Chief first." The scraping came again making us all look up towards the wall. "Look, We're all prisoners in this station so either we play nice and help each other out-" He cut himself off, walking backwards more and shaking. "Shit. It's coming." Cleo grabbed the bars, bringing the man's attention back to us. "what-what's coming?" she whispered to him, her own fear pulling her into a state. Thumping had started now as Cleos eyes widened, her hands beginning to tremble as she grabbed my hand. "the-the" she mumbled as the mans panic came to a head. "C'mon-C'mon, don't be assholes... ok? You need this! Just get me the fuck outta here!" Then a grey hand smashed through the wall and grabbed the man and lifted him up causing Cleo to jump back into my arms. "T-Tyrant!" she whimpered, moving her body to hide away just as the Tyrant crushed the man's head causing my eyes to widen. I pulled Cleos body close to me to hide her from the bloody body. "oh..." I breathe out slowly, my eyes widening even more as i watched the blood pool out of the guys body. "My god." Footsteps echo down the hall as Cleo huddled into me more, pulling out my gun i point it into the darkness. "who is that?" i call out. Seeing the other FBI woman coming out of the shadows, my posture relaxes causing Cleo to look up at me then out at the woman. "It's just me, so you can put that thing away!" she then looked at Cleo and scoffed. "Some FBI agent you are." She moved forward looking at the body, Cleo following her still shaking. "I don't even know what happened-It just... happened so quick." The woman sighed, then looked at Cleo then me. "I told you to get out of here. You wouldn't want to end up like Ben, would you?" she motioned to the body with her head making my eyes widen a little at such a passive way to talk about a dead body. "You knew him..?" I then side-eyed Cleo, if this FBI woman knew him then why didn't Cleo? The woman gave a small nod, "He was an informant. Had information of use to my investigation." My posture became straight as I began to feel sick, I had allowed him to be killed. " so.. what he said was true?" Cleo asked quietly making Ada scoff and turn away to leave. I was tired of not knowing this woman's name. I moved forward and grabbed her arm stopping her in place. "Hey, you can't just keep walking away from me!" she ragged her arm from me quickly, frowning. " I don't even know your name! Im Leon Kennedy and that is Cle-" she moved forward crossing her arms. "Find a way out, Leon." the way she spoke my name made the heat move to m cheeks. "Before it's too late." She then turned on her heel walking away, "Then we'll talk. Names Ada." I sighed softly looking at Ben's dead body and the lanyard around his neck. "well, I guess the deal's on."
Turning my body back to Cleos form, I pat her head. "It's going to be okay... its not going to get you Cleo.. i promise." Then the question from earlier came back to me. "Cleo... did you know Ben..?" She looks up at me, a few tears still collected on her lash line as she shook her head. "No... i didn't, like i've said.... I don't think she is FBI." My eyes widen at her words, anger flooding my entire body as i roughly grab her shoulders. "For Fuck sake Cleo! Did you really expect your agency not to send out another agent to look for you?" she moved out of my grip, anger flashing in her eyes before she sighed. "Fine... don't believe me." She growled out before pulling her gun from her hollister and walking off. "wait, Cleo... i didn't...!" I sigh softly, running a hand through my hair frowning. "idiot." I mumble to myself. Before turning on my heel, and looking for the pieces to open Ben's cell.
Cleo's POV
I smile slightly, having found a way back into the main hall of the police station. I think back to Leons words and sniffle, "what a pathetic excuse for an agent i am..." Rubbing my eyes gently, wiping away the tears that began to form before they began to stream down my face hard and fast. Leon's words had cut me deeply and i still didn't fully understand why they had. Zombies moans made my head snap up and caused my feet to move on their own running away from the noises and into a room, making me breath heavily trying to catch my breath i stop hearing the thumping of the Tyrant start up and gunshots. Leon.... No stop, he made himself very clear when he said he didn't trust you. Slowly my legs followed the sound of the Tyrant into the Library making the breath leave my lungs, seeing Leon unable to get away from the Tyrant made my body move on its own. "HEY!" I shout loudly to the thing, making both Leon and the Tyrant look at me. "Come fucking get some you big ugly fucker!" My eyes met Leon's as the creature began to move towards me, giving him a small nod i give him a small wink as well before looking back at the creature and shooting it then turning and running off causing more infected to follow the Tyrant and my own footsteps.
No ones POV
Leon's eyes widen as he watched her hair bob up and down with every step she took. His heart hammered in his chest as he watched the Tyrant try to grab her before she ducked and rolled from the room. She had saved him yet again. Shaking slightly he began to move towards where the last piece of the buttons was. Grabbing it and turning he cocked the shotgun then followed where Cleo ran to, seeing her fighting the infected made his heart flutter. Her body moved gracefully as she stamped on one of the zombies heads before pulling out a knife and twirling it then slamming it into another infected head. She rolled from the other infected that tried to bite her, grabbing it in a choke hold before shooting another and body slamming the one in her hands causing its brains to spill everywhere. Blood had began to coat her from head to toe but to Leon she looked like the most beautiful creature in the world, like spotting the first snow flakes in a snowstorm. Beautiful yet dangerous. She rubbed the blood from her face and sighed, pulling her knife from a zombies head as leon made slowly steps towards her a blush dusting his features. "Thank you," He spoke up making her shrug. "told you, you can trust me leon." he nodded, smiling and gave her a hug tightly. She rubbed her face into his shoulder taking in his scent and smiled back. When they pulled back, Cleos face went from smiling to horror as she moved him down and out of the way, "Look out!" she screamed then the crunching of bones and her blood dripped onto his face. he looked up and saw the zombie eating her shoulder before grabbing the shotgun and shooting it square in the face. "Cleo!" He wheezed as he grabbed her falling body, blood pooling into his hands as she gasped from the pain. "oh no... no no no!" he mumbled pulling out his first aid spray and spraying it on her wound, the blood slowly stopping as Cleo passed out. His eyes moved over her face before he pulled her up, running to the underground passage again he shoved both his body down and her own then gently placed her onto the floor.
She had gasped awake half an hour later, looking at her shoulder and seeing no mark or bite she looked over to Leons form, seeing him messing with his gun. "Leon...?" she whispered causing him to throw himself around and to look at her, seeing her awake and alive made Leon's actions start before he could stop them, he grabbed her tightly and kissed her deeply. Her eyes widened in shock before she relaxed and began to kiss him back gripping his arms tightly, after a while they both pulled away both a blushing mess. "S-sorry... i don't" Leon started to say before Cleo giggled. "I've wanted to do that all night." She confessed making him smile, "You feeling okay?" He asked, helping her up slowly as she nodded. "Right in that case. Let's get the fuck out of here shall we?" He smirked as she smiled back at him, nodding and taking his hand to lead him back to Ben's dead body.
