Tossing her phone onto the bed, a young girl of 20 years ambled out of her room and plopped on to the sofa in the living room. It was really peaceful for her— almost— for her peace was rudely disturbed by a voice that called out shrilly, "June! Where's my pen?"

A six year- old stomped like an elephant into the living room and glared at her sister.

"What is it now?" June groaned as she turned to her sister, her ponytail swayed to a side wildly as she turned to her sister, Jacie.

June Calloway looked extremely beautiful with brown eyes which matched her dark brown hair, every boy would've fallen for her at the first glance. Her sister, Jacie Calloway, on the other hand, looked as though she could fight a whole pack of lions single-handedly, but most of the time, she seemed pretty helpful and encouraging.

"My pen!" she demanded.

"I don't know, okay? I didn't take it!" June snapped, "Besides, that pen looks really bizarre! Is it even a plane or a dinosaur?"

"No it's not! It was given by that girl you accidentally pushed off the roof!"

"I told you! It was an accident! I didn't even do anything! She shouldn't have been on that trampoline anyway!" June raised her voice so high it sounded like a scream. "Why did they even place the trampoline at the edge of the roof?"

"Why are you screaming?" Jacie asked suddenly, flinching slightly. June didn't reply, she looked as though she was about to cry and turned her back on her sister. Jacie walked over and sat in front of her. She studied her look.

"You miss him, do you?" she began. June looked up, and nodded.

"I just— do you think he survived it? It was quite a hit," a tear rolled down June's cheek, "I miss him."

Jacie stared at her sister and a smirk was painted across her face.

"You like him, don't you?"

"What? No! He's just a very close friend... t- that's all," June stammered a little, "I'm going to head down to the café for a while..."

Strolling solemnly down the street, June parked and turned to face a rather huge, successful café. Opening the door, the little golden bell rang above her to alert the staff. June found a two-seated table and decided to sit there. But before her foot even lifted the ground, the golden bell by the entrance door ringed again. June spun around. She squinted as someone who seemed to be around the same age as her strolled in. She couldn't recognise the face as he was wearing black shades. But there was something about that dusty blonde, shaggy neck-length hair that looked quite familiar. And to June's luck, he lowered his sunglasses, revealing his pure brown eyes. June recognised him at once. She stared, astonished that he was here, as Matthew Leverton stopped right by the entrance to have a little look around.

Now's my chance... June thought, excitement surging through her. She took out a bracelet from her pocket. It was a bracelet Matthew had made her. The last thing he had done for her before he set off with his father to the Atlantic Ocean. The bracelet was a warm colour of red with a wooden-carved petal... no, it was more like the half of a heart. Matthew had also made an identical one for himself so they would never part. This thought gave June more courage to step up to him.

"Matthew!" she called as she hurried over to him. Matthew turned and smiled broadly.

"June! What a coincidence! It's been so long!" Matthew exclaimed as June swung her arms around his neck. The next moment, she realised what she was doing and pushed herself away from him, somewhat embarrassed.

"So... what brings you here? H- how did you survive the storm?" June asked, brushing a bit of her hair behind her ear, looking away.

"Well, I didn't exactly. It was just luck," Matthew replied simply, "if the rescue boat hadn't found me, I wouldn't even be standing here talking to you."

June smiled in a sort of shy kind of smile. She looked at Matthew's eyes. It's been seven months. Seven months since she last saw herself reflected in those pair of dazzling, brown eyes.

"Should we— get a seat?" Matthew eventually began.

"Yeah, " said June, not taking her eyes off his, "we should. Let's go."
