Author’s Note: Don’t you just love J.P.? He’s a great friend to have? Ooh and this Kodaline is a real band. There’s even a song of theirs to go along with this chapter. It’s called One Day. You’ll know when to play it. And there’s a picture of Julian for his date tonight to the right.
-Julian-
“Why did you let him talk you into this?” I asked my reflection. It wasn’t as if it could answer me. If it did, people with the nets and the coats that make me hug myself, get ready for me.
I looked ok, at least I hope I did. J.P. turned his nose up, and pretty much everything in my closet. Eventually he got me in a simple yet snazzy button up shirt with a coat I was sure wasn’t in my closet. I kept my mouth shut about it. From then on, not a hair was out of place. My hair was blow dried, something I had to get used to. J.P. insisted.
Then I was left all alone unsure of what to do with myself. Headlights moved in the distance and I stood up, no longer able to stay in one place any longer.
So I waited outside. The air was more on the chilly side but it didn’t bother me.
I sort of wished I brought my earphone’s to listen to some music just to have something to do. Something to ease the nerves. I tried not to mess up my hair so I brushed the sides of my head instead where the hair was shorter. Yeah, got myself a different haircut, J.P. also insisted. Though I may have appreciated J.P.’s efforts, I hoped the best for J.P. in return.
“You owe me one if this goes well,” He said before he left.
That’s when Tyler showed up. It was like seeing him for the first time all over again. My emotions were so mixed up, I couldn’t tell what I was feeling. I could run away, or into his arms.
He barely wore anything more than his own white button up shirt. He left it nearly halfway unbuttoned. Of course, he’s a werewolf so therefore, his body temperature would be higher than normal. I also noted his approach, as he kept directly in the center of the sidewalk like he owned it. Plus he wore a pair of black tight skinny jeans showing off his best assets. Well, one of his best assets. His best asset would always be his heart. Or his smile. In my opinion.
His eyes tried to avoid mine. They darted from mine from where I leaned against the wall near the front door and then at other random objects nearby. I was trying to be casual and cool here! He hadn’t shaved in a while it seemed. But I didn’t feel any withdrawal from him. Secretly, I found it hotter.
He took his time turning, not cutting corners. An animation came to mine of a golden retriever sauntering up to me with its tail between the legs. I used to joke with Tyler about him being a golden retriever, if he could turn into an ordinary household dog.
Tyler’s grin came to mind, so unlike the look on his face now.
He slung a black leather jacket… no wait, it was motorcycle jacket. I stood on my feet fully now, no longer leaning on the wall for support. It was lucky that I made the move so smoothly. I’d hate to embarrass myself.
