Ch 4: Jinxed

Marinette's POV

I woke today feeling amazing. Last night's patrol was so fun.

We had to chase a petty thief for half a block where he and a bunch of other guys were waiting.

Taking them down was easy but that wasn't the best part, Chat was actually funny last night. He kept his puns low but he was still hilarious.

Today I decided to start working on my dress for the gala but first I need to go to school then get my fabric from my favorite fabric store: boutique fantastique.

I wake up and get ready for school and eat a wonderful breakfast of eggs and bacon with a slice of cinnamon and sugar toast. I practically skipped to school that day a small breeze blew through my light pink sweater and black skirt with black leggings and ankle boots.

I reached the school just in time and got to class right before M. Bustier started taking the role. I looked around the room and saw a certain blond sitting in Alya's seat and Alya sitting in his seat.

"What's going on?" I asked sitting in my seat next to Adrien.

"Alya said she needed to talk to Nino then pushed me back here so I guessed I'm your partner for today." I looked down at the table in front of us and Alya was looking at me with an evil smirk on her face but turned away when I looked at her.

"Sounds good to me, partner." Almost everything seemed perfect but I could feel over a dozen eyes staring holes in the back of my head but I tuned it out and focused on the lesson. After M. Bustier's class, I waited for a few people to leave while I gathered my Ipad and pen and the sketchbook that I was finishing a few designs that would pair nicely with the dress that I had designed.

I walked out of the classroom with Adrien and we headed to our lockers which were nearby each other when suddenly I was shoved to the floor and my backpack was thrown to the ground.

I look up to see Adrien fighting to get to me but Kim and Ivan were blocking his way and Alix and Melien were standing above me with angry eyes staring at me.

"What was that for?" I asked sitting up and reaching for my bag with Alix kicked my hand away from my bag as Melien snatched it from the floor and started throwing all of my stuff across the locker room.

"You know what you did." Alix spat at me while looking through some of the papers that Melien had thrown all over the floor and crumpling some of them.

"What is going on here?!" Yelled Adrien still trying to help me.

"She stole Lila's design for the Gala and we are just here to make sure that she can't use it!" Alix yelled back at Adrien.

"But I didn't steal Lila's design I didn't even know that Lila was competing." I tried to reason with them but it was no use. Alix slapped me in the face which hurt but wasn't anything compared to what has happened to me as Ladybug.

"Shut up, we know you did it." Melien pulled out my sketchbook and started flipping through it.

"And I found proof. This is Lila's design!" She said showing me the dress that I had designed on my balcony.

"No that's my design I made that this weekend." That earned me another slap to the face from Alix and man she has a good arm. Then Melien ripped out the sketch and tore it to pieces scattering them all over the floor.

"No! Why would you do that?" I was heartbroken. They left and Kim and Ivan let go of Adrien who was still trying to fight them off. I fell to my knees and tried to gather all of the small pieces hoping to somehow tape them together.

Tears were threatening to spill as Adrien came and wrapped me in a hug. I melted into the hug crying into the crook of his neck while he rubbed circles on my back.

"Come on Mari, we can't let Hawkmoth Akumatise you. Please stay strong." He said and I was trying to calm down but my design for my dress was just ripped to pieces and the deadline for submissions were coming up soon and there was little time to come up with another dress.

Slowly my breaths turned back to normal as the bell rang for everyone to get to our next class which was chemistry.

I stood up and wiped my eyes of any dry tears and made my way to chemistry with Adrien's arm still on my shoulder.

When we walked into class Ivan Méline Alix and Kim gave me a death stare and as I looked to the back of the room Lila wore a thick smirk on her face that made my blood boil.

I sat down in my seat next to Alya and Adrien sat down next to Nino and we took the test.

Today was going to be a long day.

AN: Hey guys, thank you so much for reading this chapter I have loved writing this entire book even though it's just a few chapters. I just finished my play and it was a success. We preformed 4 and I worked backstage 4 times so it was a long week.
