It was the evening at the core 4 household, and Evie and Audrey were in the kitchen making dinner as their kids colored at the kitchen table with Henry and Jay beside them doing the same. "Hey where are the de Vils?" Evie asked not seeing her best friends family with them.
"I don't know. Unless they're out doing something." Audrey replied.
"Carlos! Get towels! And lot's of them!" They heard Mal yell from up the stairs as Carlos came running into the kitchen and into the laundry where all the towels were.
"Carlos, is everything ok?" Evie asked her friend.
"Not exactly. Marley has the stomach flu and is throwing up everywhere. So I recommend keeping the kids far away from her so they don't catch it." Carlos told them as Mal started yelling for him to get up there.
"Aw poor Marley. I hope she gets better." Evie said as she and Audrey got back to cooking.
"Yeah, and I sure hope that our kids don't get it." Audrey added as Evie nodded definitely agreeing with her.
"Mama! Mama! Wook what I dwa!" Ember yelled excitedly as she ran up to her mom to show her, her picture.
Evie smiled down at her daughter as she looked at her picture. "Wow! Good job sweetie!"
"Hey Eve! Check out mine!" Henry said to his wife as he held up his picture from the table.
"Great job, honey! I'm so proud of you." Evie told her husband as she gave him a thumbs up.
When dinner was ready, they all sat at the table as a tired looking Mal and Carlos joined them. "Hey you two! How's little Marley doing?"
"She's asleep. But I'm definitely done with having to clean up all that like." Mal said.
"Ok, I'm not trying to be rude, but we are trying to eat here." Audrey told her.
"Yeah, I probably shouldn't have said that." Mal said as they got back to eating.
And just then as they were eating and casually chatting with each other, Marley entered the kitchen. "Mommy?" She asked causing everyone to look at her.
"Marley? What are you doing down here sweetie? You're supposed to be upstairs." Mal told her daughter as she stood up from the table to go over to her.
Marley tried to say something else, but as she did so, she puked again all over her mother. "I'm sorry mommy!" Marley apologized.
"It's ok, Marley. It was only an accident." Mal told her daughter. "Let's go back upstairs. Carlos, can you clean this up?"
Carlos nodded as he stood up from the table and went to clean up Marley's puke while Mal cleaned Marley and herself up. Then Mal put Marley back in bed and helped her go to sleep before she went back downstairs to finish dinner with the rest of them.
"None of the kids have been around Marley recently, have they?" Carlos asked.
Audrey glanced over at Jay, as Henry and and Evie glanced over at each other. "Well, we do live in the same house. So they were bound to have spent time around her." Audrey told him.
"Ember is pretty much guaranteed to have been around Marley. They're always together." Evie said. "Oh no, she definitely might get sick."
"Well then, we're gonna have to keep our eyes on her and give her as many vitamins as we can." Henry told her as Evie nodded her head.
And for the next few days Marley was still sick but a lot better than the previous days, and Henry and Evie were being really cautious about Ember being around her. Same with Jay and Audrey and the twins. They were trying to keep them as healthy as they could.
