4th year was already a crazy year with the TriWizard Tournament taking up a majority of people's thoughts. It was hard for anyone to focus on anything else, but it would have been nice for your own cousins to remember your birthday.

Birthdays are supposed to be a special day. A day when people appreciate the you coming   into the world. So when the people closest to you forget it really hurts, especially when it's family.

Ron was too busy being angry at Harry to do anything, the twins are awful with remembering birthdays and I think Ginny just genuinely forgot what month it was and had no idea.

Hermione was trying to get Ron to cool his head so she didn't remember either. Somehow Neville did remember and said happy birthday when he saw you in passing quickly. Other then that not one person even paid you any attention on your own birthday.

Now that leaves one to be by the Great Lake well past curfew and angrily skipping rocks on the water. The only thing that would make the day more sad is if you sang happy birthday to yourself, but we don't throw full pity parties here so the rock throwing will have to do.

The party didn't last long as someone had found you in your not so secret spot. "For a birthday girl you seem pretty down. I've been looking for you all day." A small smile spread across your face, it was Draco. He nodded to where you were seated, a silent request to join which you happily gave him.

"Well you are one of the only people to remember so I wasn't in much of a celebrating mood." You gave him a small smile to try not to seem as upset as you were but he saw right through it, he always did.

"You're telling me Weasley didn't remember his own cousin's birthday? What a twat." As much as you hated when he made fun of Ron this comment actually made you laugh.

"Yup. Him and everyone else forgot. I didn't get one birthday hug." You let out a forced laugh as you throw another rock onto the water and watch the ripples form as it skips across the water gently.

The blonde boy sighs and sits up straight. "I'm not much of a hugger but if it will save your birthday I'll make an exception." Though he didn't sound pleased to do so it did mean a lot that Draco cared.

"I won't force a hug on you Draco, but I may use you as a nice pillow." You gently lay your head on his shoulder and keep your eyes out on the water. You could feel him tense up a bit at your action but he slowly relaxes and moves so you can be more comfortable. "I'll allow it. Only because you are sad."

You laugh lightly and smile widely to yourself. "Thank you Draco. For remembering my birthday." You looked up at him, your head still on his shoulder, the moon illuminating only half his face.

"How could I forget my first friend at Hogwarts birthday? I even got you a gift." This makes you sit up and look at him so you could see his full face in the moonlight. "You got me something?" Your smile said it all, he had just saved your birthday.

He laughed shaking his head and smiled gently. "Don't act shocked. I got you a gift last year too." This statement was true but with him being the only one to remember it was nice to get a gift as well.

"Well thank you. I really appreciate it.' I smiled gently. He smiles softly, "I haven't even given you the gift and you already love it?" He was sweet, but boy was he cocky sometimes.

"Oh shut it Malfoy or I'll be cross with you too." I poked his cheek gently making him roll his eyes playfully.

He opened his blazer gently and reached into a pocket and pulled out a small square gift wrapped in matte black wrapping with a glossy black ribbon tied neatly around it. "For the birthday girl." You took it with a smile and traced the ribbon with your finger gently.

You thank him softly and open it slowly to see a black jewelry box. Inside was a beautiful necklace with your birth constellation  on it. You were slightly shocked but very happy with the gift.

"I got it because you said it was you favorite constellation that night we stayed up till 3 am in the astronomy tower." He looked almost nervous as he spoke. "I love it! I can't believe you remembered that." You put it on gently and looked down at it on your neck smiling widely.

"Even though you doubt my abilities to remember things I'm glad you like it." Then he gave me that genuine smile that I've really grown to love.

You laid your head back on his shoulder and looked out at the lake. This will surely be a birthday to remember.
