~Twenty. ~

Weeks went by and Lizbeth wrote frequently to Larissa. In fact, the more she learnt about Larissa, the more she came to approve of her brother's choice of a possible life companion. From everything that she had learnt, Larissa was kind, caring and strong. Everything that Romulus would need if he were wanting to choose an Empress.

She smiled as she read through the most recent letter before she turned her attention to the door of her room as it opened. Her smiled turned into a grin when she saw the subject of the letter, she had received walk right into her room.

"Brother! What brings you to my room?" she asked him as she folded up the letter and placed it back on her desk. She saw his eyes dart to it as he walked up to stand in front of her before she saw him look at the envelope that the letter had come in.

"You have been corresponding with Larissa?" he asked as his eyes darted to her now and she grinned at him innocently.

"Larissa? Larissa who exactly, Brother?" she asked him teasingly and he frowned at her.

"You know exactly who I am talking about, Lizzie. When did you meet her?" he asked as he reached for the letter. Lizbeth quickly snatched it up and stepped back from him as the letter was engulfed in flames. He scowled at her and pulled his hand back before looking up at her.

"I do know exactly who you are talking about, Brother. And in answer to your question...I met her weeks ago while I was out flying. As it so happens...Her tutor had sent her into the forest between her kingdom and ours," she replied as she watched him carefully, making sure to watch his reactions.

"What...have you been talking about?" he asked carefully, clearly looking as though he was doing his best not to demand an answer out right from her.

"A lot of things, and I will say this, Brother. If she is the woman who is to become my future sister-in-law, then you have chosen the perfect person," she said to him and she saw him blink several times.

"What are you talking about?" he asked her, and she rolled her eyes at him.

"Oh, please! Don't give me that bullshit, Romulus. You know exactly what I am talking about," Lizbeth scoffed at him as she hit his arm and pushed passed him. He blinked at her again and stumbled back as she pushed passed him before he shook his head and hurried after her as she left her room.

"Alright. Say that I do know what you are talking about...What would you suggest I do?" he asked his sister as he caught up with her and clasped his hands behind his back. Lizbeth glanced at him before she pulled an envelope from the inside of her sleeve. She held it out to him as they walked.

"Here," was all she said, and he stopped as he accepted the envelope.

"What is it?" he asked as he looked down at it and saw that it was addressed to him. He glanced back up at Lizbeth and she shrugged her shoulders.

"It is addressed to you. I wasn't going to open it. I like Larissa too much to want to make her mad with me," Lizbeth said before she turned on her heel and walked away.

Romulus watched her walk away for a moment before he looked down at the envelope that he held in his hand. He turned it over and his eyes widened when he saw that Lizbeth had been right on who the letter was from. Hurrying to his study, Romulus walked over to the window once he was sure that his door was shut and he opened the letter, careful not to tear where Larissa's address was written so that he could reply. Once it was open, he pulled out the pages of the letter and began to read it.
