"Eomma? I'm home." Joy looked around but the house is empty.

Where did everyone go?

Is she still at the store?

She took off her shoes and looked around inside the house looking for the shadow of her mom but she saw no one, oh well she'll just wait for her. Joy then went to change her clothes, after that she looked around to look for anything that she could do perhaps clean maybe, though the house is clean already.

She was wiping the floor when her phone rang. She took it from the table and answered without looking at the caller id.

"Yeoboseyo?"

"I'm boarding the plane in a minute, I just called to hear your voice."

"You're ridiculous, you know that?" Joy sat on the sofa so she could rest for a while "Am I the first one you called?"

"Of course, not."

"yah!"

"Yes, you." Joy smiled at his reply.

"What about your mom?"

"She knows that I'm leaving even before I know it, there's no need."

"But you still need to... It's your mom Kim Taehyung."

"arasso, arasso, I'll call her later."

"No, call her now. I'm hanging up the phone, okay? Love you, take care!!"

"Wha-- wait-" but Joy already ended the call.

She snickered, his attitude towards his mom is not good. No matter how she likes being called first, she wishes that Taehyung and her mom would be more open and close to each other.

Speaking of mom... Joy wished to give her surprise that's why she didn't called her mom that she's going home.

I should cook for her, she must be tired from work.

Joy then decided to go to the super market with her purse. After picking and paying the ingredients, she walked home since the super market is just near their home.

By the time she got home, she noticed the two pair of unfamiliar heels.

Does mom have visitors?

I wonder who they are.

"Mom, I'm home!"

As soon as she stepped in the living room, she saw her mother serving tea so she can't see the guest, as soon as her mother stood up, Joy stood frozen on her feet.

"emmoe... nim.."

Why is Taehyung's mother here? And who is the beautiful woman beside her? The woman smiled politely at her.

"Oh you're here?" Her mother said when she saw her.

"eoh? Oh... yeah..." Joy excused herself and went to the kitchen to bring down the grocery on the table before going back to the living room. It was a quite classic view, two rich people inside a humble home. Rather than embarrassing, it's quite awkward because they are clearly on a different class.

She sat down on the opposite chair facing them while her mother did the same. The atmosphere between her mother and Taehyung's mother is so unsettling.

"I'm Taehyung's mom, your daughter and my son have been friends since they were kids." Mrs. Kim formally introduced herself to Joy's mother.

"I'm Sooyoungie's mom, nice to meet you." Her mom said.

Mrs. Kim then looked at the woman beside her, "And this is Bae Joohyun, Tae's fiancé."

Joy had a hunch already but she was still surprised after hearing it. She's really beautiful, she have this calm yet strong aura.

"Nice to meet you, my name is Bae Joohyun." She said smiling then bowed slightly.

"I'm Park Sooyoung." Joy only said as she probably knows who she is already. She then turned to Mrs. Kim, "imo... Why are you here?" She asked slowly with respect. This is too sudden after all.

Mrs. Kim smiled taking something out from her purse, it was a scented envelope with an elegant design. She put it down on the table and slid it towards Joy. "What else? Of course it's the invitation for the wedding."

Joy looked down at the invitation letter that that was in front of her. With the letter and Taehyung's fiancé in front of her, Joy was suddenly hit by the realization that their marriage is really gonna happen soon.

"I'm expecting that you will attend, alright?" she asked expectantly, she looked so sincere that Joy can't answer that she doesn't want to go.

"After all you and Taehyung are not only friends..."

Joy froze, is she going to announce about their relationship in front of his fiance and her mother? But why is she smiling, almost as if she's genuinely happy?

"...but also cousins as well."

Joy felt like she was struck by lightning.

"W-what?"

Mrs. Kim remained smiling. "Your mom didn't tell you why your father is not around?"

Joy's lips felt like it was dry and her body almost started to tremble. She's confused and also scared.

She turned to her mom. "W-who is he mom?" Joy didn't care about his dad at all after he left both of her mother since she was a child but that man... is going to ruin her life again.

Her mom, who was also shocked from the news is silent.

"Is your ex-husband's name Kim Dong-eun? " Mrs. Kim asked turning to my mother.

"Y-yes..."

"He's my husband's younger brother. I only recently found out and only got the time to tell you. Basically Sooyoungie's my niece, although not legally."

"How recent did you know imo?" Joy asked to confirm

Mrs. Kim smiled innocently, "Oh, Last  year?"

Once again, Joy was struck by lightning. Taehyung and her are cousins? Is this a joke? Is Mrs. Kim playing with her? And  a year ago but she didn't even told Taehyung? How is she going to believe this, she fell in love with Taehyung when all this time they were cousins? What in the world... No, this can't be real...

"I also asked for DNA Test and yes, you are indeed my niece Sooyoung-a. That must be the reason why you and Tae have resemblance since both of you were child."

Now Sooyoung knows why her father is not around, obviously after knowing now. He probably left because of their difference in status.

"And you have to know, he left because there would be no inheritance left for him if he stayed with you two."

"Why are you saying this, why now?" my mom asked almost choking.

But Mrs. Kim only smiled and looked at Joy, "Remember our agreement when you were in High School?"

Who would forget? she just broke that agreement when she agreed to be with Taehyung. But the fact about Taehyung and her are enough to make her numb that she can't care about the identity of her father.

"I remember."

"Then you should know what you should do next. I think, I gave you enough time, didn't I?"

Joy laughed bitterly with tears forming on the side of her eyes.
