I was sat in the back of the coffee shop, waiting to be served. Jon said he would meet me here in ten minutes, it's been half an hour.
"Hello, could I get you anything?" The waitress asked, snapping me out of my train of thought.
"Oh, um... Could I just get a latte?" I asked awkwardly.
"Okay, so a latte for...?" She asked writing down my order.
"Aaron, and could you guys maybe turn the heater up, it's kind of cold you know?" I asked, wrapping my arms around myself, in an attempt to keep warm.
"Sure! And is that all, Aaron?" She asked.
"Ah, yeah, that'll be all, thanks." I told her. I pulled my phone out of my pocket, and texted Jon.
What's taking you so long? You said you'd be here in ten minutes, it's been half an hour? - Aaron
What do you mean? I'm already here? - Jon :P
Where?! I can't see you anywhere? - Aaron
I'm literally just around the corner, calm the fuck down, Aaron! - Jon :P
But you said you were already here? Why do you always lie to me? :( - Aaron
"I don't always lie to you, Aaron..." I looked up to find Jon, rolling his eyes, and walking to where I sat, at the back of the coffee shop. "Sorry I'm late!"
"What took you so long?" I couldn't help but ask. He left me alone in this coffee shop for half an hour, freezing my ass off, in the middle of the fucking night. It had only been half an hour, but that didn't mean I still couldn't be pissed off at him.
"I'm sorry, Ian just happened to be sick, just as I was about to leave... I don't think he's getting better, although the doctors keep saying he is, I still disagree." He said sighing.
"Jon... He's been sick for almost a month now! Don't you think you should get him checked out or something?" I suggested.
"I have been, but they all say, 'it's just a fever, he'll get better soon'." He told me, sitting down opposite me, at the table.
"Just a fever, my ass!" I said, rolling my eyes, "this is why I can never trust doctors! Remember that time when I broke my leg, and the doctor said it was only a torn muscle? That was bullshit!"
"I know, but there's not much more we can do about it..." He told me, making me sigh in the process.
"I know.." I said, just as the waitress returned with my coffee. "Thanks..." I took a sip of my coffee, but it was way too hot. I left the mug on the table, so my coffee could cool down, and looked up at Jon. "So... What did you need to talk to me about?"
