Capture the flag

Percy's pov.

Percy was starting to get a little nervous. The girls weren't at dinner but there was coming a lot of noise from the Aphrodite cabin. What were they planning? This was a stupid idea for a dare. And honestly, anyone who threatens Clarisse is seriously stupid. They were on their way towards the woods. Right after dinner, Chiron had announced that it was boys against girls, and there were a lot of different opinions about that. Some complaints, some victory shouts. A little bit of everything.

"All right, here is our strategy. " Jason looked at Percy, trying to get his attention. "We split up into different groups. Group one will go first and get all the girls attention. Then comes the next group. They will ensure that the girls can't get closer to their own flag. Then group three steals it.

"Huh. " Percy looked a little skeptical. "Who came up with it?" Jason smirked. "You did. Two years ago. I just spiced it up a bit."

Annabeth's pov.

"All right girls! Gather round" Piper shouted and Annabeth suspected she was using a tiny bit of charm speak. Not that she needed to. Every single one of the girls were incredibly hyped. Annabeth cleared her throat. "Ok folks! Here is the plan. Thalia, you and your hunters hide in the trees at the edge of the woods. You ten over there will be waiting for them if they get passed you. " "Not likely" Thalia snorted. " As I was saying, you five will protect the flag. Piper, Hazel, Clarisse Katie, Reyna and I have a special job to do.

As they set up base, Annabeth felt more and more confident about their idea. She had filled Piper, Clarisse, Hazel, Katie and Reyna in. Hazel was working the mist with Reyna and the rest of them were going through the plan one last time. There were only two minutes left before the game started. "All right! Huddle up! " Annabeth shouted. Time for a pep-talk. "Look girls. This is our chance. Tell me, how many of you have been looked down upon, catcalled or told that they were just a pretty face? Tonight, we prove them wrong!" "They are going down!" Clarisse shouted. A giant roar erupted through the group. Annabeth had never been prouder of a capture the flag team. "Let's do thiiiiis!" She shouted. " Get into position. "

Annabeth, Piper, Hazel and all of the other girls got into place. They could here the boys in the background coming to them and two seconds later the battle-screams of about forty girls. Just two more minutes...Annabeth thought. It had to be perfect timing. Three two one..."NOW!" Annabeth shouted. Clarisse took out her horn and made a horrible sound. Some of the hunters in the trees joint in. In about three seconds it sounded like a whole army was coming towards them. "Hazel, you're up!" Hazel nodded and climbed up a tree so that she couldn't be seen. She folded out her hands, closed her eyes and began working. Annabeth, Piper, Katie and Calypso lay down on the ground in different positions, so it looked like they were hurt. Smoke started forming around them, creating horrible figures out of smoke. They were an exact replica of about ten different greek monsters. Annabeth shivered even though she knew that Hazel had created them out of mist. Hazel then proceeded to create bruises, cuts and really horrible injuries all around Piper, Calypso, Katie and Annabeth's bodies. Annabeth could see the other girls turning a poisonous shade of green and they looked at her which such grim expressions that she knew that she must have look just as sick and beaten up. "Wow, Hazel you did a great job!" Piper said and grimaced. "Now Reyna!" The daughter of Bellona nodded and ran off.

Reyna's pov.

Reyna ran through ten different crowds. She knew that there were only two teams but to her, it looked more like every man stood for himself. There were screams of pain, of battle and of triumf and they filled up her ears until there wasn't space for any other noise. Different types of fabric whirled around like a rainbow whirlwind.  Finally! Reyna thought. There they were! She ran towards Percy, Leo, Travis, Jason and....oh gods, Mathew was here too! "Well, well, well...look who decided to show up" Mathew said with a smug look on his face. "Get out of the way or I'll make you. " Reyna gridded her teeth. " Why do you need me to go away? Scared you can't take so many boys all on your own? Don't worry, I'll go easy you." A white hot fire started spreading inside Reyna. She was two seconds away from jumping on him but the rational part of her brain stopped her. Stop! There are more important things to take care of!

Five minutes later the little rat was finally gone, and Reyna could start the plan. "Alright Reyna, what is this about?" Travis lifted one eyebrow in a playfull expression. " This is serious. " Reyna started. " We were in the forrest and suddenly all these horrible monsters had us cornered. We managed to escape for now but the others....they didn't make it as well as I did. You need to help them." Jason looked suspicious. "Are you sure that's true? Or is this some kind of trick.." Reyna looked desperate on the outside but on the inside she was singing and dancing. She had planned for this. " Look, you can choose to believe me or not. Either way your girlfriends' lives are on the line and you can either take the risk and save them or leave them to die and live with the guilt." "Percy nodded with a grim look on his face. "Let's go. " 

Jason, Percy, Leo and Travis ran like the wind. They were so eager to help their girlfriends, Reyna almost felt sorry for them. "Just right trough here!" She yelled. They broke through the branches and the boys ran towards the girls. Wow, Reyna had already forgotten how horrible the girls looked. Hazel had done her work! 

Percy's pov. 

"Annabeth!" she let out a groan. "Oh gods, I - I don't have any ambrosia. I can, " Percy's voice shook. " I'll be alright. As long as I'm with you." Her voice was hoarse and her hands were shaking but she pulled him into a hug. These were the best moments in Percy's life. Just being there. Hugging her. Annabeth. Then he felt a pain in his stomach. Something hit him on the shoulder and before he knew it, he was lying on the ground. Annabeth took him by the rim on his armor, and held him firmly so he couldn't move. Annabeth whispered in his ear. " You really thought you would win? " She pushed him forward towards some cages and out of the corner of his eye he could see Jason, Leo and Travis getting the same treatment. Except Leo was causing trouble. "Reyna! Come help out with your husband!" She snarled at Calypso's choice of words, but ran over there.  The boys were pushed further and further towards the cages and before Percy knew it, they where locked up. "See you later seaweed brain." Annabeth grinned at him with a wicked smile. " Love you wisegirl. " "Love you too! " Annabeth yelled as she started running away with the rest of them to win the game. "See you later!" Annabeth's voice faded away, and as Percy stood and watched her, he couldn't help but hope that their team would win.
