Dear Harriet,

I hope you are well and that Paris is treating you right.

As you know, I've got this new client. She's lovely. A pretty, bubbly young thing whose talents and wisdom are that of someone way beyond her years. She's pretty much the perfect girl.

I bet you can guess what's coming next.

There's a guy she likes. He's good looking, talented, and rich - as they usually are.

He hasn't noticed her, so she asked me to make her rich.

I know what you're thinking and what you're probably saying out loud right now. Yes I know I'm not supposed to refuse people's wishes. I'm supposed to grant each of my clients one wish, whatever that wish may be. Cinderella wanted to go to the ball, sleeping beauty's parents wanted their daughter to live, Uncle Andrew wanted rings made of magic dust.

But I refused her wish.

Because I really don't think that this is the best thing for her.

I've been around for a long time. I know the mess that can ensue when feelings get in the way. I know the issues that arise when money gets involved.

She needs to dig deep within her, find out what it is that she really wants.

I don't want her to waste her only wish, and I can tell you right now that the wish would be wasted on money and wealth.

Please don't fire me.
