"Damn it!" Levi clenched his teeth as he struggled to reach a spider web that was in the corner of one of the halls. After a few minutes of struggling, he got down from his tippy-toes and glared at the spiderweb.

I'm going to need a ladder.

Levi wiped the sweat of his forehead with a cloth. These were the moments where Levi wished he was taller, but he didn't tell anyone. As he was ready to head down, a voice stopped him.

"Beautiful!" Levi grew accustomed to this nickname and knew exactly who it was, after all, Levi had only let one person call him that.

He turned his head as he saw the (s/c) skin male running towards him waving his hand. His (h/c) hair bounced with every step he took and his (e/c) shined with joy. As Levi watched (Y/n) run towards him, he couldn't help but envy his height and his nice features.

"Oh, it's you brat. What do you want?" Levi responded with the same old stoic expression. (Y/n) reached Levi as he laughed nervously at Levi's straightforwardness. He scratched the back of his neck and responded.

"I was looking for you." (Y/n) looked into Levi's eyes and smiled. "Hange told me you were cleaning this hallway alone, so I came to help." Levi stared into (Y/n)'s eyes for a little longer and sighed.

"Fine, But don't get in my way." Levi then reached into his pockets and pulled out two white clothes similar to the ones he was wearing. He then tossed them to (Y/n) and said, "Wear these." And with that he got his cleaning supplies and started cleaning again.

"Okay!" (Y/n) quickly tied the white clothes like Levi had and went after Levi to help him clean.

When Levi saw (Y/n), he couldn't help but laugh at how he looked. (Y/n) reminded him of a puppy and seeing him like this made him a bit happy. (Y/n) turned to see that Levi was still laughing and was amazed by his beautiful laugh. Levi saw from the corner of his eyes (Y/n) staring at him and quickly stopped laughing.

"You should laugh more." (Y/n) said with a big smile, "It makes you even more prettier." Levi's eyes grew wide as he stared at (Y/n). He felt heat coming to his face, so he quickly turned around.

"Tch. Shut it, brat." Levi said as he pulled the white cloth over (Y/n)'s eyes and pushed his head backwards causing him to fall. When Levi saw what he had done, he chuckled under his breath and watched (Y/n) come back up with a smile.

Levi had to admit it was nice having someone clean with him and not be complaining about everything. They even had some good laughs (mostly (Y/n)). In all, this was a nice little break from the cruelty of this world for Levi. He was glad he knew (Y/n) and he hopes he'll stick around longer than most cadets have.

Levi and (Y/n) were finished cleaning and enjoyed a cup of water after their hard work. They sat on an edge of the building and relaxed in the sunset. The nice comfortable silence was enjoyed by both.

"Beautiful?" (Y/n) asked interrupting the silence that had fallen on them. Levi turned to look at (Y/n) as he continued, "How long have you known Erwin?"

(Y/n) turned to meet Levi's eyes. He was curious. He had seen them together many times, many considered them close friends. Levi hearing this question thought (Y/n) was asking something entirely different.

Why is (Y/n) always involved with Erwin? Levi then frowned a bit. Does he like him?

"For a while now." Levi said as he turned back to see the sunset.

(Y/n) didn't know what to expect, he thought he was going to answer him with numbers, not something like this.

"Exactly, how long?" Levi turned to him as he glared at him.

"Tch, if you want to know so bad, then why don't you ask Erwin. I'm sure he'll give you an answer or better yet, why not ask Mike." Levi barked back feeling a sudden irritation come from nowhere. His anger stopped when he saw (Y/n) wide eyed staring back at him.

"Sorry." Levi mumbled quietly as he turned back. He didn't know what overcame him, but it had to stop. He didn't want to lose the person that helped him feel something else other than his usual feelings.

"It's fine," (Y/n) said, waving his hands in front of him. "I was just surprised, that's all." (Y/n) then turned to look at the sunset with Levi as his mind wondered what had triggered Levi into acting like this.

He could be a protective friend. He only got mad when I mentioned Erwin. That's got to be it.

"Hey, brat." Levi whispered, staying in the same position. (Y/n) turned towards him, giving him his full attention. "You and Mike are friends, right?

"Right!" (Y/n) smile hearing his friend's name being mentioned.

"How.." Levi paused for a bit and frowned, "How long have you two been friends?"

(Y/n) was happy Levi was asking him about his life. He wanted Levi to get to know him and him to know Levi, so this was the perfect opportunity.

"For as long as I can remember." (Y/n) said with a smile, "When I was a kid, I was always with Mike." (Y/n) chuckled at the memories of him and Mike as kids. "We were inseparable. So, to answer your question, I've known him and been friends with him all my life. From the beginning of my memories to my last." (Y/n) said stretching his hands out.

Levi in that moment envied Mike for having known someone as bright as (Y/n) for so long. But something bothered Levi.

What does he mean? How is Mike the first of his memories? Shouldn't it be a parent or guardian?

"What about your family?" Levi turns to meet (Y/n), "Where are they now?" Levi watched as (Y/n)'s smile turned into a small frown. But before (Y/n) answered, he placed the smile back on his face.

"I don't have any blood relatives that I know." (Y/n) scratched the back of his neck nervously. Levi was shocked, (Y/n) didn't act like someone who's lost their family.

"Sorry that I asked." Levi said, feeling a bit guilty. (Y/n) then quickly waved his hands in front of himself.

"Oh no!" (Y/n) said as he stopped his hands in midair, "I actually don't remember and besides I never really considered them my family family." (Y/n) smiled softly, putting his hands down, and continued, "To me Mike has always been my family." (Y/n) then laughed a little showing the whites of his teeth. "After all, just because you're blood related doesn't mean that they are your real family. To me family is a connection between people that will never break. Family is people who you can trust and support you, like Mike."

Levi watched (Y/n) speak and it resulted in a small smile on his face.

You're a real mystery, (Y/n)

"And also..." (Y/n) lifted his index finger, "If I had met my blood family, I wouldn't have met you. So, I prefer the way things are." (Y/n) finished with a big smile as he put his hands down.

Hearing this come out of (Y/n) mouth, Levi felt a rush of heat come on his face. He chuckled under his breath and said...

"You really have a way with words, brat." (Y/n) just laughed nervously. They both ended up staying there for a while, enjoying each other's company.
