Summer 2016
It was summer of 2016 when my life began to take a turn. I can’t decide if it was for the better or the worse, but it was definitely for the different. Most of my life, I had spent at home. I was home schooled and I obviously didn’t have many friends, so communication was a huge problem for me. I usually just stayed at home and played with my dog, watched TV or swam, I loved to swim. My parents weren’t really home a lot. My dad was a lawyer, respected, but never home for dinner. My mother on the other hand was a primary school teacher, and also my home school teacher. Other than school, I never really saw my mum. If anything, I was raised by my older brother Lucas, he’s 23. There’s a massive 6 year age gap between us, so he’s always been the one to look out for me.
When my dad’s job forced us to move to a small town, I was forced to go to school, a real school, where I would know no body or nothing about anything. I was definitely not prepared. Thankfully, Lucas came with us and has taken up a job as an English teacher at Westminster High, the school I will be attending. I became nervous when I realised that I couldn’t spend my lunches with him, I would be the talk of the school. So that meant I was going to have to make friends, actual human friends. Great.
When the first day came, my mother cried, so did I, I did not want to go. Lucas grabbed me, and forced me in the car, still crying. This was going to be a terrible day.
