"You want me to what!?"
Amber didn't trust this one bit. Not only was Bennett regularly visiting a wolf, he wanted her to come along now too??

"I promise you'll be safe! He's really nice!"

She turned her head away.
"No."

Bennett dropped on his knees.
"Pretty please? I'll buy you your favorite food!"

That was a difficult offer to refuse.
"Hmmmmmmmmmmmfine."

"Yay! Thank you Amber, you won't regret this!

She sighed.
"I already do."

Near midday the two of them went out to the forest's edge. They had with them the food Bennett got for himself, Razor, and Amber. With it still warm in the basket, they were going to have an amazing meal.

"There he is!"
The adventurer increased his pace, excited to see his friend.

Razor was half hiding behind a tree, inspecting this stranger new person. He only showed himself when Bennett was close enough for his comfort.
"This... Amber?"

"Yes! She's my human friend!"

Amber waved awkwardly and mumbled a hello. She was trying not to be overtaken by the logical fear any sane adventurer would feel when faced with a wolf.

Razor tilted his head, confused by Bennett's announcement.
"Human... not rabbit?"

Bennett wasn't following.
"Rabbit? How do you mean?"

"Oh!"
Amber understood. She removed her bunny-like headband and pushed her hair back, showing her human ears.

Razor nodded.
"Human."

An awkward silence followed. The two didn't exactly have much to say to eachother. Lucky for him, Bennett knew exactly how to break the tension between his two friend.

He opened The basket and the smell of fresh, warm meat filled the air. Both his friends turned to face it instantly. At least they had a mutual appreciation for good food. It wasn't much but he could work with it.

By the time their bellies were full, they were much more relaxed. Good cooking had been the solution to many a conflict throughout Teyvat's history.

Amber tried to start conversation. Despite her discomfort wigh this situation, her friend seemed to trust this wolf and she trusted her friend.

"So... Bennett said you saved him?"

Razor nodded.
"Yes! Bad fall, no walk. I carry."

Amber tried to see if she could sneak in an interrogation.
"So you must be pretty strong?"

Razor flexed.
"Strong wolf! Protect friend!"

He stood up and picked Bennett off the ground, carrying him and declaring loudly:
"Strong!"

Bennett couldn't hold back his laughter. His newest friend was so direct! Amber saw the two enjoy eachother's company. Maybe she didn't have to worry after all. Maybe...

She wanted to make sure.
"What if the other wolves saw him? would he be safe?"

Razor smiled.
"Wolf only attack bad human. Bennet good, bring tasty food for Razor!"

Bennett cut in.
"Oh! I had a question about that."

Amber did her best not to look too worried as she listened. That became increasingly difficult as Bennett told her about his idea.

"I'd like to bring Razor to Mondstadt, show him what it's like."

"Thay's a terrible idea! What if people see him? You'll cause a panic!"

She wasn't wrong... They'd have to be smart about this. Think it out, make sure Razor would be safe and nobody freaked out.

An idea popped into the adventurer's head. He took off the red cloak and put it on Razor.
"How about a disguise?"

Amber wasn't convinced.
"He still has wolf legs and a tail you know?"

"What if we get him some pants and a shirt?"

The outrider couldn't deny that would work, even if she wanted to.
"I guess..."

"Then we have a plan!"

This was getting out of hand. First he befriended a wolf, now he wanted to bring him to a city full of people? This was going to be a disaster. Amber couldn't believe she was letting him talk her into this. If anyone found out, Jean would have her head...

Still, this wolf did seem nice. Bennett and him were having fun, talking about their homes and family. Amber hadn't seen him this happy in quite a while. He was enjoying himself with his strange new friend.

After plenty of talking, Bennett yawned. All this socializing was catching up to him.
"Man, i need a nap."

Razor leaned closer and embraced him before pulling the adventurer towards him.

Bennett found himself surprised, not sure how to respond.
"What are you doing?"

"Sleep cold. Wolf sleep together, warm."

Bennett couldn't argue with that. He rested his head against Razor's chest and gladly surrendered to dreamland.

Amber had watched the interaction with wide eyes. To think they'd be this close this quickly. She saw Razor nuzzle into Bennett's hair gently, making sure not to wake him up. Razor closed his eyes, he seemed at peace too. She even thought she saw his tail wag for a moment.

The outrider sighed, finally giving up. She really did trust him after all this.

Fine. If this was going to happen, she had to do her best. Bennett was her friend and she couldn't let this be taken from him. The gears in her head were spinning as she searched for ways to sneak him in and out of the city without raising alarm. This was going to work, it had to.

Bennett slept for about an hour before he woke up. He let out a big yawn and stretched his arms wide above him.

Razor greeted him, he seemed to have slept a bit too.
"Good nap?"

"Yes!"
Bennett smiled. He really did have an amazing rest. The wolf was warm and soft. His mostly human upper body felt familiar while the fur on his legs was like a comforting pillow.

Amber was looking away at the sky while holding Baron Bunny the 784th. She seemed deeply lost in thought.

Bennett got a bit closer to her and put a hand on her shoulder to get her attention.
"Hey, you okay?"

Her cheerful attitude returned in a blink.
"Yeah! just thinking a lot."

"About what?"
Bennett sat next to her and Razor joined them.

"How to sneak Razor into Mondstadt for you."

Bennett smiled like it was the morning of his birthday. He had the best friends in the whole world.
