The two of them brought their faces closer. Was this really happening? Bennett's heart jumped with joy as Razor got in kissing range. Their fingers intertwined and Razor leaned in, eager to experience this strange human gesture again.

It was just as good as the first time, if not better. Bennett felt how careful his partner was, doing his best to avoid cutting his lips on his teeth again. They knew what they were doing now.

Their lips disconnected as they caught their breath. No words had to be spoken for the two of them to lay down and hold eachother. Suddenly sharing a one-person bed didn't seem as cramped anymore. They were quite comfortable in the other's arms.

Bennett pulled the blanket over them, a human habit Razor didn't understand, and they continued their smooching session. The more kisses were given, the less they wanted to stop. Being this close felt right.

They were so caught up in it they didn't hear the footsteps coming up the stairs.

---

In the main hall the older adventurers were still celebrating. It was rare for Bennett to make a new friend. As his collective dads, they felt great pride. He finally brought over a friend that wasn't someone from in the city! He really was adventuring and exploring the world.

"We should ask him to bring Razor over more often, he seems like good adventurer material!"

"I agree! A friend of Bennett's is always welcome here!"

"We should ask when he's visiting next!"

There wasn't a group in Mondstadt better at cheering on eachother's impulsive ideas than the adventurer's guild. It didn't take long for one of them to be going up the stairs to Bennett's room so he could ask.

The wooden floorboards creaked under every step. It would be a lie if the older adventurer claimed he hadn't had a little to drink. Not much, just enough to forget his manners.

"Bennett my boy! We were wondering if your friend would like to visit more often!"

He pulled open the door to a sight he could have never predicted. Bennett and Razor were smooching up a storm up till the moment they heard the door slap!

Razor pushed Bennett behind him, assuming danger, Bennett squealed, and the older adventurer jumped back out of the room and pulled the door until it was almost entirely closed.

"Dad! Learn to knock!"
Bennett had gone back to being a tomato.

The older adventurer started laughing.
"Sorry, sorry! I had no idea!"

When he was done enjoying the humor of the situation he asked Bennett about what he saw. Something was off.

"Hey Bennett, did i have a bit too much to drink or did i see wolf ears in there?"

He spoke from behind the door and with a calm tone, showing he respected Bennett's pricacy and was waiting for his answer before deciding what to do.

It was too late to try another white lie.
"I-if i say yes, would you believe me if i said i can explain?"

The older adventurer thought about his answer.
"It didn't look like you were in danger. Are you?"

"N-no! Not at all!"

The man nodded, forgetting he couldn't see him do so from behind the door.
"Must be quite a story."

Bennett understood what he meant.
"I can tell everyone about it tomorrow during breakfast?"

"Right, let's save it for breakfast. Don't forget to sleep!"
And with that the door closed again and the older adventurer went back to the main hall. Oh boy did he have a story the others wouldn't believe. They were gonna joke about this for months.

Poor Razor, relatively new to human customs, had no idea what just happened.
"Human... not scared of wolf?"

"I think so."
Bennett felt bad. Once again their kissing got disturbed by something sudden and scary.

Razor was still processing the idea of an entire building full of humans knowing who he was.
"Is Razor safe here?"

"Of course! Even if they don't trust you, i'll protect you! I'll make sure nothing happens to you no matter what!"

A chuckle. The idea of this little adventurer defending a strong wolf like him was amusing. More than that, it was charming. He knew he meant it.

"Safe."
Razor nuzzled his face into Bennett's neck, holding him close.
"Warm..."

Bennett smiled. He hadn't felt this happy in his entire life. He never expected anyone to want to be close to him. He was cursed with bad luck, that was dangerous for those around him. If they were human, that is. He had no doubt a wolf would be able to take it.

"We should probably get some sleep."
He yawned.

Razor laid down and pat his chest. Bennett gladly accepted and rested his head on him.

What a strange time this had been, everything about it broke his expectations in a thousand pieces. A kind wolf, his first kiss, humans accepting a wolf as one of their own, falling in love... All of those were good things. Maybe he wasn't so unlucky after all, he certainly didn't feel like it as Razor held him close.

He sighed in reliefed. What an emotional day, he truly was exhausted now. He wasn't looking forward to having to explain all this tomorrow. Lucky for him, Amber would be able to help him.

Amber... he should really find a way to thank her for all her support in this. Yes, he should think of something to gift her tomorrow. right now, it was time to sleep.

He drifted away listening to Razor's breathing. It was so calming... Sleep came for him and he didn't resist. He dreamt of soft grass, happy adventuring, and spending every moment he could with Razor.

And kissing him, he dreamt a lot about kissing him.

Razor didn't fall asleep as easily. He chose to stay awake a bit longer, looking at the adventurer in his arms. Admiring him, how peaceful he was. Bennett was a good person and he was glad he'd met him. Despite missing the forest, he found himself wishing he could spend eternity in this moment.
