Chapter 10

Warning - St. Elmo's Fire Movie Spoilers

I woke up to pushing on my side. My eyes fluttered open to see Tom there with breakfast in a tray. I sat up and he sat on the bed. He set the breakfast on my legs and laid down next to me.

"Happy Anniversary darling."

"Happy Anniversary babe."

I got up from where I was sitting and ran my non functioning legs to the guest bedroom.

I got the box and ran back to the bedroom.

I plopped down onto the bed and handed him the box.

I reached over to the nightstand drawer and got another box.

Tom opened the first one and smiled at me.

"Thank you. I love it."

He slid it on his arm.
It was a bracelet with our initials and the date we met on the left of our initials and on the right the date we started dating.

He opened the second box and his smile fell.

"Isn't this-"

I cut Tom off,

"My dad's watch? Yes."
"Why give it to me? I know how much it means to you."

"Well before he passed away he gave me that watch and said, 'give this to the man that you love. You'll know when you find the right one.' So I wanted to give it to you since your the man that I love."

Tom let a tear slide down. "I love it, thank you. I love you."

"I love you."

I got up and got dressed in a one of Tom's sweatshirts and some black leggings.

Tom was waiting for me at the door.

"You ready to go?"
I nodded.

Tom started the car and I hopped in the passenger side.

Tom drove us to the filming location since my first day of shooting was today.
The car stopped and we both got out.

We walked into the building and I talked to the producer for awhile.

I walked over to where we would be filming at and saw two familiar faces talking to each other. What a coincidence.

"Fancy seeing you two here."

They turned their heads to me.

"The one and only Emilio Estévez and the heart throb of our time Rob Lowe."

(Little side note. Rob is 26 in this story.)

They looked at me and started laughing.

"Well look who it is. The one that left us high and dry to join the military." Emilio said jokingly.

"Yeah just gonna film a movie with us and then leave." Rob added on.
"Hey! I told you guys that I was leaving and it was a while after we filmed that movie together Rob!" I said mockingly.

"Okay everybody hurry up and get ready!!"

(Just so you guys know the video I got the script from is at the top, the beginning of this chapter. I don't want you guys to be confused to who's saying what and maybe it will help you more. I don't know I just put it up there in case.)

"Quick, what's the meaning of life?" Andrew McCarthy who was playing Kevin asked Emilio.

"Dale Bieber." Emilio responds while taking off his jacket. "Who?" "Dale Beiberman. Didn't you see her at the hospital tonight? She's a girl who I was madly in love with when we were freshmen. Okay okay. She's about yay tall." Emilio says gesturing his hand in the air roughly measuring out her height.

"Long dark hair. Beautiful face."
Andrew or Kevin as you would say is still looking like he has no idea what Emilio or Kirby who Emilio plays is saying.

"Okay. Remember- remember that, that the big fountain? The one on main campus. The one that says main knowledge, art, religion, life. The day we were walking past that she was sitting on the life side and she just smiled at me."

"What are you talking about? You took her to one movie." Andrew said.

"Kevin. There are several quintessential moments in a man's life. Losing his virginity, getting married, becoming a father, and having the right girl smiling at you."

"I'm not going to live through another year of finding you were poorly written on may I love scratchings around his house." Andrew said his line.

Emilio slouched back in the chair he was sitting in. "Jing. I have her hospital schedule. It's true love my friend."

"Oh love. You know what love is? Love's an illusion created by Lori types like yourself to perpetuate another illusion called marriage to create a reality of divorcing lusion our need for divorce lawyers."

Rob then came walking into the room drunkenly and wearing sunglasses.

"Just can't deal with the little missus. Can I crash?"

Emilio started laughing in his chair.

"You know there are more people in law school right now than there are lawyers on the entire planet. Think about them."

"Your just pissed off and bitter because you haven't had sex in how long. What is it a year maybe. You choose. Refresh my memory please Kevin. Haven't you ever heard of the sexual revolution?" Emilio went on.

"Who won, huh? Nobody. Used to be sex is the only free thing. No longer. Alimony palimony. It's all financial. Love's an illusion." Andrew says.

"The only illusion that counts my friend."

"Says who?"

"Anybody who's ever been in love." Emilio says.

"Love sucks."

"So does your attitude."

Andrew fake laughs and closes the door.

"Cut!"

We all went back to whatever we were doing.

I walked over to Rob with Tom next to me.

"So are you really drunk? Are you going to have a hangover tomorrow or was that just your acting?"

"Just my acting. You already know how good I am."

I rolled my eyes.

It was 4 o'clock and everyone started heading home.

Tom and I headed home to spend the rest of our anniversary together.
