Maki Togami, a part of the 2%. A girl with light chocolate brown hair with crimson streaks, pale skin, blue eyelashes and purple fading to red irises. She mostly keeps to herself, except from family and friends.

"Maki! Hurry, we're gonna be late!" A familiar voice shouted from near the front door.

"I'm coming! No need to scream your head off Ana" Maki screamed back. Ana, Maki's British cousin, always came to visit everyday and to make sure she was alright. Both were headed to school; it was term but torture for both. Maki soon got ready, all bags packed and ready to drive both to Brochigh University in the town of Roxford, the town with the most recorded people with quirks. 'Why do we have to stay in dorms, but then I guess it saves on my fuel, so I'm lucky about that. I hope dad's gonna be alright, something's wrong with him. And I have that crappy job on Saturday, but it pays me good. I just need the money' Maki thought. "We're here" she said in a dead tone. They both get out of the car, grabbed their belongings and headed to their room.

Maki has a bunk bed to herself; she sleeps on the top whilst Ana sleeps on the bottom of the other set in the room. The last roommate always took time getting here, she always begged her brother to take her away from the torture, but he refused saying that she needed her education. Ana looked through the window, outside she saw Liz being forced into the building with her stuff by her own brother. She rushed to her room and greeted the girls. Elizabeth and Ana started to unpack whilst Maki stared up at the ceiling, resting. They didn't force her to do anything, just minded their own business. They all had their jobs on Saturday, Liz trying to contain her excitement whilst Ana and Maki dreaded theirs. 'It's good pay' both cousins told themselves.

"I heard there are some new students joining Brochigh today" Liz broke the silence. "With all your screaming and pleading, you managed to hear that" Maki replies, Ana bursts out laughing, "Hey! That's no fair!". "Yea it is, I bet even the Principal heard it from his office and he doesn't even have a hearing quirk, even any for that matter". Ana manages to say "Oh...Maki, you're gonna kill me if you keep going" she can't contain it anymore and continued to laugh again.

Ana soon calms down after almost busting her lungs, "So, Liz, heard any news about the new students?" She turns her attention to her instead of her cousin. "Well, I know some of them are quirkies...also that they're from around the world". "What! No way! Really?" Liz nods. "So, if that's true then that also means that one of them will have to bunk with us because I heard rooms are filling up quickly with people cause their rooms need serious cleaning...and they'll be sleeping under you Maki". "No way, I am not having some weird random stranger sleeping under me, with or without the spring cleaning. They can go sleep in some other room than here". "Mak, come on, you have to cheer up a little you know". Liz walks away, not wanting to indulge with their conversation.

-Liz's POV-

I walked into the clean kitchen, maybe it would be interesting to have a new roommate, even if one of us doesn't agree about it. Who would it be though? Would it be a classmate we already know know, or would it be one of those new students? I would prefer someone new, just imagine how awkward it would be if it was one of our classmates. It's so bad, I can see it very clearly. Then again, if it's a new person, it'll be harder to take away a new friend (one of the new students), that's good because they'll be used to us more, so they'll keep coming back to us. Ok Liz, you need to stop scheming, even if it seems like a good idea.

I can hear their bickering; it always ends up like this when the topic 'New Roommate' enter the conversation. I understand Maki doesn't want a new roommate because she doesn't want them to make that pity face when she tells them her past however Ana does put up a good argument. Maki does need to step out of her comfort zone occasionally, I mean that's how people learn lessons. If they didn't, who knows where they could be right now, and she doesn't know! Her and our new roommate could become the best of friends. Huh?! What's that awful smell? I must be not been paying attention to what I was doing.
