Anna-Lee's POV
Today Hell Bound Riders was having one hell of a party. They were celebrating how successful their last jobs have been and it was a little crazy. Members from their other chapters had been invited so we were wall to wall filled with bikers, and women looking for a biker to ride. I sat on the bar smoking a blunt with Reaper and Viper, Reaper sitting on the bar beside me and Viper on a stool. A man with a blonde buzz cut came over and grabbed one of the beers from the cooler. "I've never seen you around before beautiful," he said as he eyed me. "Not a hanger, Ice," Viper told him as he passed the blunt to Reaper. "She someone's girl," he asked. "No, she's Ranger's sister," Viper said. "I know how you two feel about each other. Don't put her in the mix." "Ranger's sister," Ice said as he looked me over, lust in his eyes. I didn't like the feeling I got from him.
I wanted him away from me, but if I got off the bar, I'd be right in front of him, and that was the last thing I wanted. I couldn't help the look of disgust I gave as a reply to his one of lust. "Now beautiful, don't be like that," he said to me. "I'm tellin' you this once, leave me alone," I said to him. He held up his hands and walked away but I didn't like the smirk he had on his lips.
"You good," Reaper whispered in my ear. I gave a nod as I took a big drink from the cup of whiskey in my hand. I like the feel of him close. It calmed me. As the party went on, everyone got more than a little hammered. My brother passed out under one of the pool tables so I knew I wasn't going to be getting a ride from him.
I felt Reaper nudge me and I looked at him. He gestured with his head towards the stairs. I nodded and we went up the stairs. When I stepped into his room, neither of us were in the mood for sex. Instead we stripped and laid in his bed with our backs to each other.
"Anna-Lee," I heard Henry call out. My lungs hurt as I ran, breathing in the frigid air. "Henry," I heard Piper call out. "Watch your six Piper," Henry called out. Gun shots echoed all around. I took a blow to the temple from the butt of a gun. When I woke up, I was tied to a chair on a platform. Beside me was Henry. He looked like hell. "I'm sorry Anna-Lee," he whispered, blood dripping from his mouth. I shook my head, "It's not your fault." I heard a door open. "If it isn't little Anna and Henry," our target, Strauss Calvin, said as he came in. He had a sadistic smile as he looked us over. "You both have information I need, so you can both answer my questions or we're going to play a game."
Henry and I refused. We were suddenly grabbed from behind and plunged into a large tub of water. I struggled, my lungs begging for air. I was brought up, my chair placed on the platform again. It happened over and over.
"Anna-Lee," a voice echoed in my head. Who was that? Am I going insane?
"Anna-Lee," the voice said again.
I bolted awake, my breathing hard. Reaper was there. "I'm sorry," I whispered, my whole body shaking. "Don't be," he said to me. He pulled me into his lap. "I...," I said, my throat feeling like it was closing up. My eyes burned. "You don't have to say anything if you don't want too," he assured me. "I understand." He cradled me, and I leaned into him. "My nightmares came back after those bikers targeted me," I whispered to him. "Every night. Except nights you and I were at the hotel." I felt him press his lips against my forehead, "What do you need from me?" I didn't answer just tucked my face into the crook of his neck, no longer able to hold the tears at bay. No matter how many times I have this damn nightmare, I can't help but cry after. This was the first time anyone has held me as I did. It made me feel better.
When the tears stopped, he let me go. "Thank you Reaper," I whispered. He cupped my face, his thumbs wiping away the tears so gently. "I'm here for you." The look in his eyes was so much different than the cold or lust filled looks I was used too.
He pressed another kiss to my forehead before we laid back down. This time with my head on his chest, and his arms wrapped around me.
The next time we woke up it was too his alarm going off. He reached over and turned it off and I moved so he could get up. He sat on the edge of the bed, his feet on the floor. He looked at me over his shoulder, "You good?" I nodded, "I'm good." I got dressed while he went to take a shower. I slipped from his room and saw no one else was awake yet.
I stepped out on the porch to smoke a cigarette. The temperature was dropping, the holidays were on the horizon. My parents will most likely try to convince my brother and I to go home, but I'm not in the mood to deal with my mother this year. She becomes more wound up than a corkscrew during the holidays, tryin' to make sure everything is perfect. If there was the slightest thing out of place she would have a major freak out, worried about how the ladies she considers her friends would think of her.
Thankfully we didn't have to worry about her coming here she enjoyed being a part of everything that's going on back home. She loved putting together the Christmas pageant with some of the others, leading the canned food drive we have for Thanksgiving, having the best looking Christmas display on the house, the Autumn Fair around Halloween, and so much more. She was a holiday Nazi and I was thankful to be able to get away from that this year.
When I finished smoking my cigarette I went back inside. I saw Reaper and Viper having coffee as others were starting to get up, many of them hung over. Tanner crawled out from under the pool table he fell asleep under and he walked to the bottle of pain meds sitting on the bar. He checked his pockets but couldn't find what he was looking for. "Got a smoke sis," he asked me. I handed him one of mine and my lighter. He took them and lit the cigarette before handing the lighter back to me.
"So Ranger mentioned the other day, your birthday is coming up," Crusher said to me as he sat beside him. "What do you want for your birthday?" "Nothing," I answered. "Every woman wants something," he said to me. I shook my head, "Not this one." "That's why it's so damn hard to shop for her," Tanner said as he flicked the ashes from his cigarette in the ash tray. "That's because you don't pay attention to what a woman wants," Brick said as he grabbed a cigarette. "Not my fault my sister is a simple woman," Tanner said and I rolled my eyes. "Maybe you clean your own house for a change," I suggested to him. They chuckled knowing it was wishful thinking. My brother was hopeless when it came to cleaning. I prayed whatever woman he got with had the patience to deal with him.
