Euphora

"Charlie, Euphora Mode"

The door locked, the curtains closed and the hidden draw I'd built under my bed opened and revealed a suit.

Last summer, I was really bored so I started messing around with some of the tech on one of my dad's suits. It was then that the creation  of Euphora came to mind. I changed the design a bit refining the air pressure making in so that it wasn't visible where the pressure was coming from, basically making a more compact version of my dad's suits, so Iron-Man but minus the Iron and make it woman. 

It took me a while to come up with my 'thing' but eventually I came up with it and then I started my work on my light beams, and light bending forces. I came up with the name by accident, I just mis-spelled a word and boom! Euphora. 

It took me that whole summer to create 'Euphora' so I only tested it out a few times but every holiday I came home from after that I would spend out and about in Manhattan, just patrolling the streets, even though it was mostly petty crimes, it still felt amazing. It felt good to having something that was just mine, apart from me and of course C.H.A.R.L.I, no one knew about me being Euphora.

Normally I would be patrolling Manhattan but tonight I thought I'd check out this new school of mine so I headed up to the helicopter pad. 

I got changed in the storage room on the top floor and then climbed up the ladder onto the roof. I stood there for a minute in the warmish September air. My newest addition to the suit was the earpiece built into my mask, so I pressed play and shot off into the night. It only took me about 5 minutes to get to Queens.

"Charlie, directions to Midtown High School," It only took me another minute to find it. Once I did, I landed on the ground and started to walk round the fence. I was curious so I flew over the fence and walked up to the door, it was unlocked. Weird, isn't that like unsafe. Still, I pushed it open and walked in. Bad decision.

Alarms started going off. I started running out the building, I flew back over the fence and started  to fly away. Something hit my hand. 

"Damage detected, left hand off-grid"

Shit what now.

I landed, I checked my hand. There was something sticky blocking the air from coming out, I tried to pull it off, with no luck.

Something moved over my head.

What the hell was that.

I ran into an alley, still trying to get the stuff off my hand. Suddenly, I was knocked back against the wall. Someone pinned my hands out of the way.

"And what exactly do you think you're doing?" It was a boy in some kind of red suit, I recognised the suit, I couldn't think of why though.

I wrapped my leg around the crook of his knee, taking him by surprise, I managed to push him down to the floor. Me on top of him, pinning his arms onto the ground.

"I should ask you the same thing. You're the one who attacked me."

"But I didn't break into a school," He says as something shoots from his wrist, encasing one of my hands in something, gluing it to the ground. I looked at what was covering my hand, it looked like- like a web!

"Spiderman!" I'd seen that suit in my dad's workshop a few times.

He stopped.

"Yes?"

"I-I work for Tony Stark,"

"Wait, really?"

"Yes really."

"Then why were you-"

I cut him off "I was just patrolling around thought I'd, you know, check out the school, the door was unlocked, which I thought was odd so I went to check if anything was wrong inside, and then, well, you know what happened."

"How can I believe you?"

This kid is really starting to get on my nerves.

"What am I going to steal from a school, a pencil?"

"I mean-"

"Just, un-stick me please."

"Oh sure"

He sprayed this fluid on the web and I slid my hand out. Then, I held my left hand out and he helped slide the web off my hand.

It was probably time I left, I didn't want to get back too late, after all, it was my first day tomorrow.

"Thanks, look I should really get going,"

"Oh right, yeah me too." He was kinda awkward.

"See you around then Spider Man"

"See you around-"

"Euphora" I finish, just before a fly off into the air.
