I'm not saying I hate Scott, I just spent the entire walk to school contemplating ways to lock him in our fridge without killing him. It was a nice night and then Scott just HAD to do THAT.
When we got to school, Eric and Jeremy were discussing something on a staircase. When they spotted us, Eric immediately buried his face in his hands while Jeremy ran down.
"Before you ask, it doesn't matter." I stated immediately. He paused. "What?" "Nevermind. What are you doing?" I asked. "I know some things about Brandon that could help you guys." He said proudly. I tried not to smile. "Great. Meet us behind the school at the end of today." Aaron decided.
Soon enough the classes began. We sat in English and observed the other students' reactions to what we had done with ourselves. I sat by a window and ignored the class. Honestly I was just looking at my reflection on the glass because I look amazing.
And that repeated several times. I slept through the other classes. I crammed the homework I was given into my locker, knowing damn well I'd forget about it. Not soon enough, the day ended and we were off to go meet with Jeremy.
As requested, he was behind the school. He had Michael beside him. All of us sat around on the pavement as Aaron broke out the notepad. "Fire away." He said.
Jeremy explained how Brandon took random days off and nobody could tell why. He also mentioned the girls name is Katie. They started dating three weeks ago. Michael told us about how Brandon created a team of the jockiest of jerks.
The team nicknamed themselves 'The Hawks'. "Oh come on, at least make a cool name." I said to nobody in particular. Stewart, Eric and Jeremy agreed. We sat around in silence for a minute.
And enter Katie. "Heyy.. What are you pretty boys doing here? Schools over." She asked. Stewart started growling at her. I resisted the urge to tell him he sounds like a microwave. "Oh relax, I'm not gonna hurt you!" She said.
She had a silver crop top and silver skirt. It looked nice against her blonde hair, but between her and Molly, I'd pick Molly (Who was wearing a gold trench coat over a black shirt and shorts). And before you start screaming 'SWEET HOME ALBAMA' at me, 1. We're technically Japanese, not American and 2. We are in fact not brothers and sisters. We're just close friends.
"So. What are you doing here?" Katie asked again. "Actually, we were about to leave. C'mon guys." Scott stood up and started heading to our car. All of us, including Jeremy and Michael followed.
We stood in front of the car for a minute. "How are we all going to get in?" Jeremy asked. "Well.. Usually Aaron drives, Scott rides in the passenger seat, I take the back left, Stewart takes the middle, Molly takes the back right and we just throw Jason in the trunk.." Eric said, crossing his arms with a confused expression. Yes, they do cram me in there.
"Aaron will drive, Molly gets the passenger seat, Eric takes back left, Jeremy takes the middle and Michael takes the back right. Throw Stewart in the trunk, Scott can run, I'll take the roof." I decided. And so we did. I managed to stay on the roof and had a pretty great conversation with Scott.
When we got home and opened the trunk, Stewart immediately punched me. I kicked him in the face and followed Molly inside.
And so, The SQUIPs and highschoolers sat around the table. "So. Where were we?" Stewart put his feet up on the table. "Okay.. Katie may be onto us." I said. "Why didn't she just try to take one of you immediately?" Jeremy asked.
"There are several potential reasons. Too many witnesses, trying to get info on us before trying to get us, didn't think of it or recognized that she's outnumbered." Scott supplied. Eric cracked open a Mountain Dew "So what do we do about those two?"
