Southern Boy

A/N: A little different from the usual, don't worry, it's still Bucky and Peter, just wanted to try something with some head-canons I have. :)

It was Friday, they had a surprise trip for the science class, of course, their teacher, Mr. Harrison, wasn't going to say where they were going. Peter had an issue with the man asking ‘Who's Natasha Ramonof?’ Eugene even thinks he pronounced the woman's name wrong, but hey, that was on Harrison. Eugene even had a hard time, he had to forage his mother's signature, seeing as he doesn't live with his parents anymore. The class piled onto the bus, friends sitting with friends and even some with their significant other, Eugene chose to sit by himself, but Peter Parker had a different idea.

So, he sat beside the boy. "Eugene~" the boy sung out. Said boy grumbled and continued to look out the window, he was already irritated. Jay wouldn't lay down for her name for the past three days and the father of the child (not her actual father but she calls him daddy so it's on his own ass) has been out with super heroes and living him to deal with her. He even had to use his only check for the week to get her a babysitter because of this stupid ass trip. The boy would rather skip and watch princess movies with the small girl but Peter said he had a surprise for the other.

Ned noticed the former basketball player spacing out. "Hey Peter." he whispered to the boy, Parker turned to look at him with a raised brow. "What's up with Flash? I mean, did you hear about him quitting basketball and football?" Parker's eyes widened at the question his friend had just asked him. He turned to see the other asleep with his cheek on the window, as if he hadn't slept in the last few days. He furrowed his brows.

"No, I didn't hear about that." Ned and MJ decided to fill him in on what happened during the week that he had to take off, recovering with Bucky and Bruce from the last mission they had gone on. Apparently Eugene had done a lot, he even started to slip in classes he was good in, he left school a lot earlier than usual and was even spotted at a elementary school picking up a little girl. Peter was confused but, it may be the reason why Eugene has been avoiding him since he got back. The boy decided to change the subject to MJ and her training with his Aunt Natasha.

Peter woke up the boy beside him. "Five..five more minutes." the other mumbled. Peter rolled his eyes and shook the other again. "Ok! Ok, I'm awake." a yawn escape his mouth as the two turned their attention to the man in front of them.

"Alright class, as you can see, we're at Stark Tower, this is your special field trip!" students clapped and whooped, liking the trip already. Peter and Eugene both groaned internally. Peter because he knew that his family would embarrass the shit out of him and Eugene because he knew that Peter most likely told his family about how he bullied him. "Now then, let's get into the building!" everyone was giddy and ready to meet the heros, they spoke to one another as they exited the bus.

"This is horrible." Peter whined to his friends, MJ rolled her eyes and Ned put an arm around his friend's shoulder.

"Dude, I get to meet your boyfriend and see the Avengers?! This is awesome!" of course Ned was happy, Peter talked about his family like it was nothing. The other male has been to Stark Tower before, but he hasn't talked to the heros yet, he stuck with the other scientists and helped them out with Peter. The group of three walked up to the entrance, as soon as all of the students entered the lobby area, they were silenced by their teacher.

"Now now, calm down." he spoke out to them. Peter yawned lightly and looked to his right. He noticed that Eugene had been avoiding the guys from his football and basketball team, well, be did quit, but that wasn't it, he seemed distant from everyone. Did he get Anti-social while I was gone or something? His thoughts were cut off by a female like voice.

"Hello everyone, my name is Pepper Potts." Peter grinned and turned his attention to blonde female in front of them, she dress herself in a white and black dress, her blonde hair tied into a tight ponytail, she wore black heels and a clipboard close to her chest. "Now, today I will not be your tour guide, a younger man, around your ages, will be your guide for the day, please treat him with the utmost respect." the class gave a ‘yes ma'am’ and watched as the female walked away.

"Who do you think it is?" Ned asked Peter, the brunette thought about it for a moment, who was around their age that worked with them? A smile fell onto the brunette's lips.

"Harley is our age."

"Oh..that makes sense."

"The hell is a Harley?"

"He's one of the guys that work with Mister Stark and I, he's the reason you work with Miss Potts and the reason-" Peter was cut off by a very familiar southern accent.

"Heya everyone, my names Harley Keener and I'll be your tour guide for the day." Peter and Ned grinned like crazy, the brunette male then looked over to see that Eugene had fallen asleep. Shit. He must be tired. Just as the passes had been handed out, is where all hell had begun.

"Eugene Thompson." Harrison said loud enough for the entire lobby to hear, the man's arms were crossed and his face was morphed into a frown. Said boy jumped slightly, making some of the class laugh. Peter glared at their teacher, it was bullshit, he began to attack Eugene ever since he quit football and basketball, of course that was for personal reasons and for his own mental stability. Eugene was getting too stressed out and he couldn't exactly stay after school, he had a child to deal with while his friend was at work. He even had a job after school on most days, he has too much on his hands at the moment, that much Parker knew.

"Yes sir?" the boy questioned, rubbing his eyes to wake himself. Harrison didn't seem too impressed by the male's actions. Peter knows he doesn't like him as it is, Eugene was like his favorite student, what really happened?

"Did you listen to a word that Mister Keener has spoken?" Harley had gone to speak, not wanting to drag this on anymore. Eugene looked up, a slight blush scattering his face. He was listening, like Parker, he's learned how to take in his environment. Stop hanging around Stark Tower. The boy thought to himself. "Well?" Harrison asked with a raised eyebrow and annoyed look. Eugene grinned.

"Well sir, the southern boy just introduced himself." Eugene answered the man with a wide smile. Peter covered his mouth, the amount of times he's called Harley that when he came over is still crazy. Harley had laughed out, grabbing everyone's attention. The eyes of the two boys met, both smiling widely.

"Well then, if I'ma southern boy, that makes ya a city kid, huh?" Eugene laughed at the comment. Peter jumped on the shoulders of Eugene, singing a little cute song that he used to tease the Avengers when they were being all sappy and lovey dovey.

“Watch them get they're gaaaaay oon! Lookin so cute and perfect! Fittin like two puzzle pieces, hard to separate.”

The small group of friends, Peter, Ned, Eugene, MJ and Harley, laughed at the dumb little song. Eugene and Harley had already planned to get back at Parker, as soon as he and Bucky Barnes confess to one another. Taking to damn long. Eugene thought as they laughed.
