Where Are They?

Kai ended up carrying Zane out on his back out of the tunnel. Zane hadn't spoken a word besides looking at the riders and saying "sorry" over and over.

Fish-legs wanted to know everything about Ninja-go's technology and while Hiccup was curious he was more concerned about his brother who had a face set in a grim and uncomfortable line. When they got to the dragons they found Storm-fly, Wind-sheer, Meat-lug, Tooth-less, and Ember playing with Shard who was making snow for them to play in while Hook-Fang, Skull Crusher, Barf, and Belch were taking a nap. It looks like the second Shard found the dragons he just started playing with them instead of any actual attacking.

When Tooth-less saw Hiccup the night fury was quick to smother his rider in a dragon hug and lick his face. "It's good to see you too bud," Hiccup laughs petting his dragon. Zane made eye contact with his dragon and said,

To Shard in Ninjagian. The dragon made a low rumbling sound with a nod and Zane smiles in relief. Since Zane was clearly not upset Kai dropped him off his back and he landed on the ground with a metallic thunk. Zane looks at Kai hurt while said red ninja just crosses his arms and goes to pick up Ember.

Zane was clearly upset by Kai's actions, but did not say anything as they all got back to the town. They ignored all the staring and walked straight to the great hall and locked the doors with their dragons settling in. Zane was put in the middle of a round of chairs. "Now Zane why are you here and where are the others?" Kai asks. Zane sighs sitting in his own chair. "When you didn't come back with Flame we thought you had been captured or worse. As soon as we could we got Flame to bring us here. We had no idea where to go though and since I am a nindroid I was able to analyze the native language, but the others couldn't so I was the only one able to understand anyone. As you would expect we drew a lot of unwanted attention to ourselves," Zane said. "And Yohan's boat?" Astrid asks annoyed Kai was not being exposed for the dangerous one he is.

Zane cocks his head slightly. "Who?" Snot-lout helpfully supplied. "Brown beard, long nose, ugly face, never stops talking," Snot-lout said. Zane's eyes lit up with recognition and he clenches his fists. "That man said he was taking us too Kai, but he turned us over to these dragon hunters. We fought back wrecking a few boats, but were captured. When I was awoken the others were in a cage the opposite side of me. I over heard the leader 'Viggo' talking to the man I assume to be his elder brother Ryker. Ryker wanted to kill us, but Viggo wanted to use us for his own goals. I spoke out against him telling him we would never do as he wanted," Zane took a deep breath. "He then came in the cage and....and...he knew I wasn't," Zane started trembling and put his arms around his stomach. Everyone was confused except Kai who got up and had Zane look at him speaking for him.

"He touched your wires?" Kai asks and Zane nods trembling. "My unauthorized protocol was knocked off line in the fighting during our capture. I did not have time to repair it," Zane trembles upset clearly. Kai's face became murderous and he asked. "What did he do?" Kai asks. "He turned up my emotions, turned off my empathy, pulled out a few non essential wires, and then turned off my ability to feel pain Yohan did the same," Zane lists off. "Why would you want to have the option to turn pain on or off? I would just keep it off," Astrid said. Zane responds shakily.

"Pain is a nerve in the brain to tell you something is wrong within your body structure. It works the same for me," Zane explains. "And what do you mean Yohan did too?" Stoic asks. "Yohan was with the hunters he wanted my wires to sell luckily Viggo didn't want me damaged for his plan so when he was done he allowed no one to touch me without his consent," Zane explains. "See? I never liked Yohan and this is proof," Kai said. "I was always with you," Snot-lout said. Everyone was deeply troubled by this especially Hiccup, but as he thought about it more and more it made sense because as Snot-lout has said every time Yohan is involved a plan goes wrong.

Stoic is furious and starts breaking chairs and everyone wisely stays out of his way. "Now I know where your temper is from," Zane said to Kai who chooses to just ignore his father's rage for now.

"What happened after? Where are the others?" Kai asks. Zane tries to think then answers. "We were separated. Ryker had me chained below with Shard and said if I froze Berk's waters then the others would be safe. I know he was lying, but I wanted them safe so bad I wanted to protect them so I did as told," Zane finishes.

Everyone was silent before the twins decided to cut in. "So can you freeze anything?" Tuff-nut asks. Zane nodded his head. The twins exchange smirks that meant something was going to get wrecked and Zane was nervous. Fish-legs wanted to know everything about Zane's workings and well Zane he was looking at Hiccup. "You do look similar to Kai, but I don't see how you can be related considering the distance," Zane said. "Well we are twins," Hiccup said. "Take a DNA test if you want," Kai said with a eye roll.

Zane gave Kai a small glare and stood up. "I will," Zane said and walks over to Hiccup and grabbed his wrist. Tooth-less growls and the people in the room are ready to spring into action if needed. Hiccup felt awkward and Zane pricked his index finger. "Ow! What was that for?" Hiccup asks pulling his hand back. Zane holds out his arm and a square image pops up startling everyone, but Kai.

Two images of twisting ladders appeared side by side as Zane's face became one of horror as a flash of green happened. He typed things on he image fast as possible, but it was useless because he kept getting green. He looks from Hiccup to Kai and stomps his foot the hologram disappeared. "Kai I want to talk in private now" Zane orders harshly. Before Kai could even respond he had his arm grabbed and he was pulled outside.

"I will freeze anyone who intrudes!" Zane calls out before just shutting the giant door with a loud bang.

Zane's POV

How can this be? No wonder he never came back to us. This does explain a few things such as his physical appearance. He was born with the muscle and athletic to suggest the same went for his family, he's stubborn, and he has often spoken in odd phrases and not to mention that song he sings in his sleep.

"Zane what the hell?" Kai asks in Ninjagian pulling his arm back. "Kai please you need to understand we thought you were in danger and wanted you home," I said to him. "I am home this is where I was born," Kai said gesturing around him and points to the doors we just exited. "That is my family in there. My name is Kai Haddock the younger twin to Hiccup Haddock and the son of Stoic The Vast chief of Berk," Kai said like he had been saying that his entire life. "But what about Ninjago? What about being a ninja? What about us? What about the others? What about Nya? You still raised her that does not change anything," I said trying to reason him into coming back home. "I sent a letter back with Flame okay so you didn't need to come. I also made it clear in that letter that Nya will always be my little sister no matter what happens, but you and the others broke my heart. I didn't come back because I didn't want to go back to you and the others ignoring me. You had the others you could have come and get me it's been three months Zane," Kai said with a bit of disappointment that we didn't come sooner.

"Kai we....we were just mad okay? We had been going on missions for a month straight with no rest. Then Lloyd got hurt because you didn't stick to the mission and Flame being difficult so we took our anger out on you and we shouldn't have," I said. "You didn't need to make me feel like I never mattered," Kai states. "We never," I began. "You did a lot," Kai points out. "Fire bird," I said running out of energy.

"Just shut up. The second we find Jay and Cole we will talk this out, but I want you to get one thing straight. You all broke my heart and if you ever want me back then it's going to take something big to convince me because I am not the punching bag in this relationship," Kai said to me with a glare and I hate it when he glares at me. "And my family is here and I am not just leaving them so whatever happens I am not leaving them,"

And with that my lover in red walks away leaving me alone.

It was not long before I raced after him grabbing onto his arm. "Kai please! I'm sorry we all are please don't leave us," I begged him tears going down my robotic face. He looks at me and I can see the pain washing over his face before he pulls his arm back. "You all hurt me there's no changing that," Kai said and left me crying and alone.
