8. Lost

Authors note - it's still Jennettes P.O.V

I walked through the forest with Daryl we had been split into pairs.

Rick with the new girl Michonne. Michonne wanted to prove that she was worthy to be allowed in the group.

Also Axel was with Maggie since Glenn was all beaten up from some guy who interrogated him.

"Jen' " Daryl called. People had given me the nickname 'Jen' so they didn't have to say Jennette.

"Ya"I called and walked over he was crouched over an imprint in the dirt. "It's a shoe imprint, they went this way" Daryl pointed out.

We started to walk in the direction the footprints led.

"You're her farther aren't you?"I said trying to confirm my thoughts.

"Yeah" Daryl answered not looking at me as he trekked through the forest.

"Fifteen years ago me and Amber we were close, real close, she then suddenly had to Lear saying I wouldn't understand why.....I now know why she thought that" Daryl replied sadly.

"I guess your in luck if you find her, a chance to be reunited, with her" I said.

"She won't want me, she'll hate me, I don't need her anyway" Daryl answered coldly.

"Then why are you so worried about her then?" I asked.

He met the question with silence. He obviously didn't know himself yet.

Lilly P.O.V

"Sheriff boy, I think we're lost" I called out.

"My names Carl!!!" He shouted.

"I know that, I just like Sheriff Boy better" I said bitting my lip cheekily.

"Shut up, anyways I think your right" Carl answered.

"Sheriff Boy's better?" I pitched my voice higher.

"Nooo, I think we're lost" He confirmed.

"Yeah I don't remember this" I said standing over a small slope.

"It's steep..."I informed looking down it.

Carl walked down it quickly and was safely on the ground. "Come on, you scared?" He teased.

I rolled my eyes and sighed. I then ran down the slope it started off quite good. But I then fell over an uprooted tree root and fell down the hill making my ankle get severe pain up it.

Carl ran to my side "Lilly! Are you alright?" Carl questioned worriedly.

"My ankle" I winged. He looked my ankle "You might've twisted it..."Carl said.

He helped me up and I put my arm around his shoulders using him for support.

"We need to stop somewhere to check out you're ankle out" Carl advised.

"We need to get to the Prison, they will be worried about us...You got your sister to care of" I told him.

"How did you know?" He asked.

"The way your so protective with her, I saw you know after we rescued those people" I informed.

I winced in pain as I put pressure on my ankle forgetting about hurting it.

"We need to stop" Carl ordered putting me down.

I heard rustling behind him "Carl!" I shouted.

He turned around his gun drawn he breathed a sigh of relief when it was Daryl and Jennette.

Daryl smiled a little and I smiled back. Jennette ran to me and hugged me "Don't do that kid' you gave me a heart attack"

I hugged her back. We were like sisters me and her. She must've been worried sick.

She let go and returned to Daryl's side. "Let's go"She beamed. Carl helped me up and I used him for support.

Jennette's P.O.V

My feet were tired as we neared the prison. Carl was in front scouting for zombies.

Daryl was carrying a sleeping Lilly. Carl had grown tired of her leaning on him so Daryl picked her up and gave me his crossbow.

"Your good with we you know" I told him looking at him and smiling.

"Am I? Hadn't noticed..." He said genuinely.

"Yes, must be the inner dad in you" I joked.

He chuckled an noticed us near the prison it was in sight now. We approached the gate. I saw Rick run to the controls and opened the gate. The ate opened and Carl ran and hugged his farther.

Daryl walked off to put Lilly to bed. I walked over to Rick who was now walking along the gravel path to the interior of the prison.

"Did the others come back?" I asked.

Rick nodded " Maggie and Axel cam back shortly after you did" Rick informed me.

"Good, Good" I said.

"We need to move, That town aren't going to act quite nicely to us going in and attacking" Rick replied wisely.

I nodded "There's a road nearby that we passed on our way here I think I saw a RV that we could use since we have new people"

"Me, You and Daryl will go get it in the Morning" Rick answered.

"How about Tyrsee and his group?" I asked.

"They pose no treat and put down one of there bitten group members, they can come with us if there's room" Rick replied.

"Good" I answered and we walked into the prison.

Authors note - I'm sorry to say but it's ending soon next chapter is either the last or an epilogue but don't fret I'm writing a second book!!!
