3. Jennette and Lilly

The group merged together Amber was reluctant but felt Lilly needed people. Things were quite normal as they could be Lilly stayed in the house with Dianna most days while Jennette and Amber went scavenging and Derek and Zap went scouting to see if there was a safer place to stay. Burris though kept to himself and didn't talk much.

One night in the house while Dianna helped Burris prepare food Lilly sunk out in the garden of the house. Lilly silently opened the back door and crept out. She then climbed on top of the shed and watched the stars something she did most nights. She didn't tell Amber because she would frown upon it.

The shed creaked under her weight, but it usually done that. Lilly lay back on the roof and looked at the consolations of the stars. "Pretty Ain't it," Jennette said walking down the path and stepping on an old worn oak chair next to the shed. "Yeah, My Foster father used to teach me all the consolations, see there's Taurus," Lilly said pointing at the stars.

"My parents didn't have time to teach me about the stars or anything really, once I could walk and talk they left me to the maid Robin to look after me," Jennette said. Jennette sighed and looked at Lilly who smiled brightly at her.

"Come on, Amber will be wondrin' where ya' are," Jennette said in her smooth Southern accent. Lilly stood up and the shed creaked. "Careful," Jennette said. Lilly tiptoed over to Jennette who helped her down. They entered the house where Dianna stood waiting for them "What were you doing?"She demanded. Dianna acted like a mother constantly worrying and bossing people around. "Lilly needed some air," Jennette said. Lilly looked up at Jennette and smiled.

The front door swung open and battered against the wall Zap ran in "Dianna! Amber's hurt clear a table!"He shouted. Lilly gasped "No!"She winged. Dianna did as he said and began to clear the table. "Jennette help me!"She said. "Right!"Jennette said and began to help her. "Burris! Get the first aid kit we found under the sink!"Dianna ordered. Burris then did as she ordered and brought it through.

Derek then walked in holding Amber bridal style. Amber's leg was slashed and it was bleeding everywhere. Lilly began to cry as Derek put Amber on the table. "Get that kid outta here!"Dianna shouted. Jennette pushed Lilly lightly towards the door "Come on, Let's go" She said. Lilly began to protest "No!"She yelled. Zap had to carry her out the room and lock her in her room.

Dianna took some tweezers she had taken off the table and looked deep into the cut "What happened?"Dianna said. "She was climbing out from under a fence with some food she found and cut her leg," Derek said. Derek and Dianna were alone except Burris who was in the kitchen eavesdropping.

"We should Kill her, Tell them there was nothing we could do, Lilly trusts her too much," Dianna said to Derek "Dianna? That's murder you're talking about"He said surprised his wife would say that. "Were losing authority! Even Jennette and Zap are beginning to listen to her more than us!"Dianna shouted. "Maybe your right," He said. Burris slipped out the room quietly and walked over to Zap who stayed outside Lilly's room while Jennette calmed Lilly down. "Oh, Look it's the fattie!"He said. "Shut up, this is serious, Dianna and Derek are going o kill Amber!"Burris said.

"Really! Let me talk to em' "He said. Zap and Burris went in the living room "Burris tells me, That you're going to kill Amber?"Zap questioned. "Did he know? Well you know what we do with people like that don't we Zap" Dianna said. Zap nodded and pulled his knife out his boot and stabbed Burris's head before he could make a sound. Burris's limp body dropped to the floor.

"Put him outside, Act like it was an attack from those things," Dianna said. Zap began to drag Burris's lifeless body outside. "That was murder!"Derek shouted. "Do you want to end up like him!?"Dianna retorted. Derek stayed silent. "No...."He said. "Well, Shut your mouth, let's just kill this one and get it over with,"Dianna said.

Dianna turned around to see Amber stood up holding onto the couch for the support her gun in her hand she raised it up "You're leaving me, Lilly and Jennette alone you hear?"She said.
