5. Don't touch me!

"What are you all doing here?"Daryl repeated to the broken Lilly.

Lilly didn't speak. "Leave her alone, she's a child, The person who just took care of her for 3 years just died, Leave her alone"Jennette growled protectively.

"Daryl, who are you talking to?"A grey haired woman said leaving the prison shortly followed by a young boy wearing a Sherriff's hat, then an older man which Lilly assumed it was the dad cause they looked similar and finally an Old man stood in the doorway on crutches.

The woman with grey hair looked down at Lilly "Oh my god, a kid"She said covering her mouth. The woman stepped closer and Daryl watched her, The grey haired woman reached out to Lilly and touched her and Lilly pulled away making her fall onto the gravel path.

"Don't touch me!"She shouted backing up to the fence which was covered in blood so she jolted up and stepped away from it.

"Calm down, It's alright"The grey haired woman reassured.

"No, it isn't! Amber's dead! There ain't anything good about that!"Lilly snapped.

The older man with his son went over to Daryl "We should take them inside, then we'll find out what to do with them" He said.

Daryl sighed "Fine," He said grudgingly and walked off his crossbow placed on his shoulder.

The walked into the prison which was completely safer than any place Lilly had previously stayed, but she was to traumatized to bother looking. She sat down in a seat while Jennette talked to them. "We can leave, get out of your hair," Jennette said.

"No, you can't you've got a kid with you, you should stay,"The grey haired woman said.

"Carol, you know that we can't-," The older man told her but was interrupted by her "What if it was Carl, Rick?"Carol pointed out.

" Fine, you guys can stay but try anything and you're out," Rick said walking off.

Jennette walked over to Lilly "come on we're safe now" she said to me but I blocked her out not wanting to talk to her. "Lilly-" she said touching her shoulder.

Lilly screamed and pushed her off "Don't touch me!!!" She screeched.

Lilly stood up pulling her arm away from Jennette. She then ran out the prison Jennette shouting after her. She ran over to where Amber's shredded body was. She grabbed the fence staring at the remaining tears streaming down her face. " no....no...no" She whimpered.

She heard people walk onto the gravel behind her. Lilly didn't turn around to look, but she heard Daryl speak " you alright?" He asked Lilly. "She knew a Daryl, he was her friend, they used to hunt together, she hated his brother," Lilly rambled smiling at the memory.

" I think she loved him, I never met him," Lilly said hitting the fence, " she was so sure he was alive..." Lilly said and tears then began streaming down her face. Then she felt someone touch her shoulder.

Lilly turned around and saw Daryl. He would've spoken if it wasn't the fact Lilly's inner child side kicked in and she collapsed in his arms crying her eyes out.

"She's gone, she's gone, she's gone..and it's all my fault" She murmured. He still didn't know what to do with a crying child in his arms. He began to rub her back and whisper " it's ok, it's ok, It wasn't your fault."

Authors note - I know it's short and sad. But I couldn't bring myself to write anymore or I'd cry.
