"Hello?"
"Hi umm is this Mr Colten Heyes?" I bit my lip nervously.
"Yes, how may I help you?"
"It's me, Arabella, yesterday you came by my bakery and asked to make a deal with me." I ran a hand through my hair while pacing around the room.
"Ah yes I did, have you made a decision?" His voice remained calm and serious.
"I spent all night reading the contract and I have made my decision." I paused looking at the contact. "I'm gonna do it. I would love to go on tour with your band." I bit my lip anxiously while silence filled the line.
"Thank you. That's great. Please come by my office with your signed contract so we can discuss further about what exactly you'll be doing and what to expect." A smile broke out on my face.
"Okay sir, I'll be there in one hour." I tried to contain the squeal that threatened to release.
"Very well, I'll tell my assistant that you'll be coming." That was all I heard before the line went dead.
After setting my phone down, I walked over to the contract and began signing what I had to. It took about ten minutes to sign the contract. After I was done, I placed the contract on my bed and walked to my cupboard to look for an outfit that was more fitting for a business meeting. It took me about twenty minutes to get ready. Once I was done, I grabbed the things I needed and walked out the door. After locking my door, I walked up to my car. It was the black range rover I wanted for a long time. I finally saved up enough to get it and I couldn't be more happier.
The drive to the office was shorter than I expected. The building was huge and shined like it had been cleaned about twenty times today. After taking in the view, I gathered my things, then locked my car and began walking towards the building. The realisation of what I was doing finally set in and I began to grow more nervous with each step I took. When I finally made it to the reception, I walked over to the lady at the front desk.
"Hello I'm here to see Mr Colten Heyes." I tried covering up the shakiness in my voice with looks of confidence. "Name?" The lady said in a tone that expressed how bored she was. Wiping my hands on the front of my dress, I spoke up trying to hide how anxious I was. "Arabella. Arabella Davidson."
There was a pause. "Ah the 10:00 appointment. You're the baker girl for the tour right?" The lady finally looked up at me with a disapproving look. "Yes, is that bad?" I'm pretty sure panic was written all over my face because the lady chuckled and said. "The band is very hard to manage. These boys don't listen and are as stubborn as they get. You seem like a girl that doesn't like to do anything bad and always follows the rules. This band is far from that. You'll manage though considering you'll be providing them with food."
Is this band really that bad that I have to be warned by everyone who works with them?
I was about to speak when I was cut off by a stern voice. "Arabella, you're here. Welcome, come in, we have much to discuss." I gave the lady at the desk one last look before walking towards the man. "Take a seat, I hope you brought the signed contract." Mr Heyes sat at the big chair behind the desk while I sat on the chair opposite him. I pulled the contract out of my bag and placed it on the desk. "Yes I have, I've signed everything that I have to."
Mr Heyes grabbed the contract and quickly went through it. "Wonderful. Now there's not much to discuss about the contract considering you've already read it fifty times to make sure you know every detail of it." A low chuckle echoed through the room. "All you have to know is, once you've given me this contract, there's no backing out." I gave him a nod. "Yes sir, I know that. I've read it thoroughly and I don't see why I would have to back out." With a slight nod, he continued. "Well then, as the contract stated, you will be going on tour with the band Duplicity. Have you heard of them?" I went through memories in my head to try and find any way I could know them. "I'm not sure sir, I might have gone to a party of theirs a couple years ago but the night is quite a blur to be honest."
