The sight I saw before me was straight out of a horror movie. Or maybe a really weird comic book?

Oh, that's great Mia! And are you going to be the super hero? Watch as Mighty Mia saves the day.

Jeezh, you sure are sarcastic, I thought back.

Looking back at the sight before me had me hiding behind a dodgy building but still close enough to see. Keeping my breathes quiet, I peeked beside the building to get a better look.

It was the bad boy of Kingston High, Ryder Levi. He was extremely hot with brown cropped hair, blue eyes that sometimes resemble a cat, and muscles body builders wish they could obtain. Plus, he was a giant at 6'5. He easily towered over my small 5'3 frame. I'm short, so what? All in all he was one fine piece of man and the bad boy image just added to the appeal.

Ryder wasn't alone though. Oh, no he wasn't, pushed up against the wall with Ryder's hands around his neck was a middle aged man. The man had no hair, brown eyes, and what I could see a bandage covering his fist.

The most grueling thing was that Ryder's lips were about an inch or so away from this man's own sucking a blue thing out of the burly beast of a man. It looked like... Like... Like a soul.

Covering my gasp with my hand I watched as the life drained from the man completely. Ryder's once blue eyes turned a vibrant green color. He seemed to glow for a second before his eyes turned back to blue. He dropped the man to the ground with a thud.

Well that was interesting, the voice in my head said.

I couldn't agree more. As I took a step back trying to get out of the ally and not get eaten I bumped into a trash can lid. Dropping to the muddy ally way concrete with a clatter, Ruder looked over at me and into my green eyes. He started walking towards me with his hands out in an 'I can explain' kind of way, but I wasn't taking any chances with Mr. 'I suck the light from people.'

Booking it down the ally way I heard his heavy steps behind me. I felt someone grab my arm and pull me to a stop. I screamed so loud I think I heard a window break. Feeling a hand slap over my mouth, I stopped screaming but didn't quit the struggle. Us Simmons don't give up.

I felt cold lips whisper harshly in my ear,"If you don't stop struggling, I'm going to have to hurt you."

Slowly I lost my fight and the hand slid from my mouth.

"Now, baby girl, I need you to be good and tell me what you saw," Ryder said.

"I don't think so," I mumbled. I mean what if he killed me too? I'm to young to die! I haven't even gotten to go to college yet!!

"Ah, ah, baby girl, I don't like being lied to," he tutted but the frustration still shine through his eyes.

"I don't care." I know I was pushing my luck, but I'm stubborn.

"You will," he hissed. Bipolar much? Pushing me into the building we were standing in front of, I couldn't help the sliver of fear that ran through me.

As if he could smell the fear on me, he smirked. "Baby, all you have to do is tell me what you saw and I might not hurt you," he grinned. Might.

Shaking my head, I gulped when his eyes darkened and he put a little more pressure on my arms he had at my sides.

"Tell me what you saw," he demanded. His impossibly hard grip getting harder making me yelp. His eyes softened and so did his grip. Only slightly though.

I had to get out of here, I thought.

"I'll tell you what I saw if you tell me what you are," I said with the straightest face I could muster.

Surprise registered on his face but he nodded,"Deal." He leaned back letting go of my shoulders but kept staring at me. Slightly uncomfortable, I cleared my throat and he snapped out of it.

Sighing, I sat on the ground and patted the space next to me for him to join. He raised his eyebrows, probably surprised by me letting him sit next to me after he murdered someone, but didn't comment and sat.

So that's how it began.
