Chapter 17

A giant sword appeared.
Ladybug looked frightened. It was a sword that many villains would get when they would take away her lucky charm. She was more concerned for hawkmoth being able to use it since he was more powerful than all of them.
"Chat be careful!" Ladybug yelled at cat noir.
She tested to see if her yo-yo still spun and it did.
She could still use it to deflect anything flying towards her.
Miracumoth tried over and over to hit ladybug with the sword but she was faster than him. She still had her agility. She jumped and bounced over miracumoth.
"Missed me! Missed me again!" Ladybug said.
He started to get angry.
He then turned towards cat noir. He raised the sword.
"Chat look out!" Ladybug yelled across to him.
Chat turned around and ducked as the sword grazed over him.
"Thanks m'lady!" He said deflecting the hit from catalyst.
Miracumoth lifted the sword again.
Ladybug took her yo-yo and spun it around the sword. She pulled to towards her so it wouldn't hit cat noir.
Ladybug looked at catalyst.
"Cat noir! The akuma is in her cane!" Ladybug shouted to cat noir as he was battling catalyst.
He nodded at her and used his staff to hit catalyst. Catalyst fell to the ground.
"Cataclysm!"
Chat started to reach for the cane.
Miracumoth ran towards cat noir.
"Cat noir no!" Ladybug screeched.
Suddenly the cataclysm disappeared.
Chat looked to his side to see miracumoths cane touching him.
He had light green on one arm and leg and the sphere on his cane was half green.
He started laughing.
"Checkmate ladybug! Now i have both of your powers! You can't do anything!"
Thunder cracked in the sky as cat noir and ladybug stood in disbelief.
"What should we do?!" Chat whispered to ladybug in panic.
Ladybug had to think fast. We have to keep fighting!
"Chat you can still break her cane!" Ladybug said pointing to catalyst. She ran back to fight miracumoth.
Catalyst was still down on the ground. She was coughing and weak.
Chat looked over at her. He tried to grab the cane but catalyst pulled back. He was about to yank it from her when he spotted miracumoth.
Miracumoth swung the sword and it hit ladybug.
Ladybug was hit to the other side of the building.
"Ladybug!" Chat screeched.
"Cataclysm!" Miracumoth yelled into the sky.
The tip of his cane started bubbling with cataclysm. He walked over to ladybug and she had nowhere to run.
She clenched into the side of her stomach where the sword had hit her.
"M'lady NO!"
Chat stood in shock. Catalyst took this opportunity and got up.
Catalyst lunged at cat noir and pinned him down. She smirked.
"Bye bye alley cat!" She sneered.
She started reaching for his ring.
Chat tried to break free but couldn't. He craned his neck to look over at ladybug.
Miracumoth raised his cane in the air.
"NO!" Chat screeched.
The the cane crashed down onto ladybug. It stung her right where the sword hit her.
She opened her mouth to scream but nothing came out.
She shuddered as a wave of pain swallowed her. She became weak and vulnerable to miracumoth.
Miracumoth laughed and started to reach for her earrings.
Cat noir saw this and was infuriated. He took his head into catalysts and she fell backwards. She started coughing uncontrollably.
Miracumoth glanced over at catalyst and saw cat noir furious. No!
Chat grabbed his staff and extended it.
He couldn't have nathalie get hurt. She was already doing so much as to being catalyst.  She wouldn't end up like his wife did.
Without thinking he snapped his fingers and catalyst detransformed. A little black butterfly flew out and purified by itself.
Cat noir stood there, shocked at who detranformed from catalyst.
"Nathalie?!" He gasped.
He looked at miracumoth and back at nathalie.
"No...NO!" Everything was in slow motion.
He knew exactly who hawkmoth was. His own father.
He ran over to miracumoth who was now hawkmoth. He took his staff and whacked him as hard as he could. Hawkmoth lost balance and fell to the ground. He remembered all the times his father was "busy". He couldn't stand the thought of it. But why? Why would his father be doing this? What did he want to do so bad with the miraculous? Chat had so many questions.
"You will never hurt her!" Chat snarled at hawkmoth. Cat noir gently picked up ladybug and jumped away.
Ladybug closed her eyes. Even though hawkmoth had lost his powers, the pain he caused didn't disappear. It felt like the pain was spreading slowly through her body.
The rain poured heavier and heavier.
They got to the top of the Bourgeois hotel.
Chat gently put down ladybug and stood by her.
Her earrings had 2 minutes left.
"M'lady..." Chat said with sadness.
Ladybug broke into a coughing fit.
"I-i'm fine.." She quietly said.
"No your not! I have to help you!" Chat said in panic. Tears started forming in his eyes.
Her earrings had 1 minute left.
"Chat don't look!" Ladybug said weakly.
"M'lady your badly hurt!" Chat said with his voice cracking.
"Turn around!" She scolded with her earrings flashing.
Chat sighed and turned around.
Ladybug detrasformed. She started coughing.
"M'lady!" Chat said desperately.
"I told you..i'm fine!" As soon as marinette said that she felt dizzy and crashed into the ground. She gripped her side tightly. The pain wouldn't go away.
"M'lady!" Chat yelped when he heard her fall.
"Chat i'm fine! Go fight hawkmoth!" She said struggling to get words out. She broke into another coughing fit and was gasping for air.
Chat couldn't take hearing her any longer.
"I'm so sorry m'lady for what i'm about to do..."
