[ 2 years before the incident]
Seth and Jay had been preparing for this trip for months, and they finally had the time, but when the two had asked the others if they wanted to come with, they said they had already made plans to do something else. when they reached the forest they would be camping in, Seth got out first and grabbed their things. he handed jay his bag, and they got all of their things situated then headed down a hiking trail.
It took them a while but they finally found an area not too far from the trail to set up camp, jay set out to find branches, fallen leaves, and other combustible things to start a fire and Seth stayed to set up the tent. it was almost dark by the time that jay had made it back to the campsite, he had gotten a bit lost.
While the darkness around them got heavier and the creatures of the twilight began to rise, Seth and jay sat by the fire and chatted, unaware that they weren't alone, entirely unaware of the threats that hid in the pitch-black eclipse just outside of the lights reach.
*inhale*
