Mike loved circus', just as most children do. They were fun. All of the lights, funny costumes, the lions and tigers, the acrobats. All of it. But what he loved the most was the clowns. Who couldn't love a clown? They were so bright and silly.
"Happy birthday!"
Mike woke up with a start-his family was standing around him, all wearing different coloured part hats.
"W-what?" He asked, sitting up and rubbing his eyes. He was still super sleepy.
"It's your birthday silly!" His mum laughed, putting a party hat on him. "So get ready quick. We have something special planned and you're gonna love it!" She emphasised 'love'.
They quickly left his room, his sister flashed him a quick smile before closing his door.
"Wonder what they have planned." he asked himself as he hopped into a pair of jeans and a grey t-shirt. It was summer, so maybe he should've chosen shorts. His mum wouldn't give him any time to change though, and they were out the door in seconds.
Mike only laughed as they tied a blindfold over his eyes, and forced him to sit in the back seat. Laura-his older sister-knew how much he hated the back seat, but they didn't trust him not to peak.
"Liz!" He yelled, slapping a hand away from his hair. Liz-his other older sister-knew he also hated having people mess up his "sexy bed head hair" so she often messed with it to aggravate him. This time, he laughed.
He didn't know exactly what was to happen today, but he felt like it would be fun. So he smiled and went with his sister's and mother's odd plans.
"Mum?" He asked.
"Yes?" She responded.
"When're we getting to wherever we're going?"
"Actually. We're here." she said in a happy tone.
I could hear soft music playing in the background. It sounded like we were at a... Carnival?
Everyone around me got out of the car, then someone grabbed my arm and led me out. It had to of been Jessica...
"C'mon. We're gonna be late, Mike." She urged, tugging on his arm. "Mum'll meet us there. Hurry." Jess urged, making him run.
The music was loud now, it was definitely circus music. A huge smile spread acrost his face - he loved the circus so damn much it wasn't even funny.
"Ta-da!" Jess yelled, yanking the blindfold off. Bright lights flooded his vision, they were in the big-top.
Lions, acrobats, tigers, clowns, the ring master, amd many other exciting attractions. Orange and green and purple and blue lights filled the huge tent.
It was an amazing scene , the best Mike had ever seen. He focused mainly on the clowns that were dancing, juggling, balancing on huge balls, etc... But one specific smiling clown caught his eye.
It had bright red, very messy hair, a neon rainbow long sleeve under his purple suspenders. He had purple and yellow feathers guarding his shoulders. His pants were two coloured, his left leg was bright orange, the other was bright green. His shoes were typical clown shoes - over sized and bright red. He was smiling a humungous smile.
"Mum-!" He whisper-yelled, urgently tugging her sleeve. "Look at that one!" He pointed and smiled. This was his best birth-day yet.
His mum laughed and nodded. "He's cute." she said, looking back at te tamer and lions.

The circus went on late into the night, it was 11:30 when it ended. Mike was unhappy to have to leave, but sleep was taking its toll on him and he couldn't resist much longer.
"come on, honey." His mum said over her shoulder. His sister was leading him trough the crowd to the van.
"Cn w cm bck agn?" He asked sleepily. Both his mother and sister laughed.
"Of course we can. But let's talk about that tomorrow, honey."

Everyone was asleep, no one knew of the dangers that really lurked in the night.
Mike jumped awake suddenly. The room was pitch dark. "What the...?" He thought he'd heard a noise - he was a light sleeper - and they had no animals to make any noise. Maybe his mother or sister were getting something to drink...?
Laying down, he couldn't sleep. His mind was racing with images from the events last night.
Clowns, lions, tigers, acrobats, animals, everything was amazing. A smile spread acrost his face - it faded as soon as the light flicked on.
A clown - one mimicking the one from the night before - was standing by his closed door.
Mike couldn't scream - couldn't move. He was immobile in his bed. And the clown knew this.
The only difference was that this one was black and white, and soft blood splatters covered his torso and bandaged hands.
"This'll be fun, won't it~?" He asked in a sing-song voice. He pulled a chair into the middle of the room and grabbed some rope from behind himself.
The clown grabbed Mike, forcing him to sit in the chair. Mike was a rather wimpy kid, so when he struggled it wasn't hard for the clown to tie him to the chair.
The clown grabbed another chair and sat mere inches from him. He grabbed his chin and forced Mike to look at his face.
Slowly, he traced his thin, pointy finger along his face. A small line of blood followed his finger, Mike pulled away in pain, but bit his tongue.
He poked his fingers into Mike's right eye socket, and carefully pulled his eye out. Mike as screaming now. He twisted and shouted, trying to get away from the monster in from of him.
"Hold still kid. The funs about to begin." he whispered with a monstrous smile. His teeth were sharp as hell and pointed terrifyingly.
"Please.." he whimpered. "Please leave me alone."
The clown laughed. "No can do, kiddo." He informed, tossing his severed eye to the floor.
Someone knocked on the front door before it bursted open.
The clown stood up, knocking the chair over in the process. Foot steps filled the house, people were coming upstairs.
"Oh," the clown said, standing by the open window. The door was nearly open, the cops (Mike thought it was cops - prayed it was them) were nearly in the room.
"By the Way. I'm Laughing Jack. Hope we can play again sometime, kid. Sorry we didn't much today." He laughed and lunged out the second story window. The door literally flew off the hinges and the room was instantly filled with four SWAT members. Two pointed their guns at Mike before realising what happened, two ran to the window.
"Oh, gross!" One yelled, blood dripped from his shoe. He stepped on Mike's right eye.
They untied him, called his mother when they took him to the station, making sure he was safe.
His mum rushed in through the doors to the little office he was sitting in, instantly pulling him into a huge bear hug.
"Mikey I'm so sorry." she whispered through her sobs. She was messing up the bandages on his face a little.
He pushed her away.
"I'm fine, mum." anyone could tell he obviously wasn't. But the cops had come in for questioning.
"All I can tell you is, his name Is Laughing Jack - and he won't leave me alone until we finish playing."
