Live from the arrowhead pond in Anaheim California. It's team USA versus Iceland in the Hockey finals of the Junior goodwill games.

We were all getting dressed when Adam walks in with his bag and stick. I smile knowing what was going on while the rest of my team was surprised.

Adam: I woke up and he pain was gone.

He twists his stick with his bad hand as coach looks at his before moving his hand away with a disappointed face.

Coach: Adam I'm sorry but we already have a full roster.

We all turn to look at Russ who just looks down and attempts to take his jersey off but Charlie stops him with his hand. He walks up to coach and Adam both.

Charlie: he can have my spot. It's what I can do for the team.

Adam places his hand on his best friends shoulder.

Coach: Charlie I need you on the bench coaching right their with me.

We all cheer for how Charlie so easily gave up his spot and how Adam got to play again for this game. I knew it took a lot for Charlie to give up one of the most important games he'll ever play but that's why he's the captain he would do anything for anyone.

~🏒🥅~

We were all skating on the ice to the sound of cheering for both us and Iceland. The stands were full seat to seat with cheering fans and everyone at that moment felt like we were all stars or at least I did.

Now the two teams gather at their respective benches. In their last meeting Iceland crushed team U.S.A 12 to 1.

Coach: heads high! Stand tall! Fly straight! U.S.A!
All: All the way!

Our starting lines make their way onto the ice hearing Iceland's cheer which was pretty boring.
Averman takes the draw but doesn't end up winning. Iceland takes the puck down to our offence as I skate close behind the player. He goes to shoot but I take the puck away before his stick even touches the ice. I see Sanderson skating towards me so I hit the puck away and slam into the boards and fall to the ground. I get a grip on my stick and quickly get up skating after the puck that I had nearly iced. Dean gets it but gets hit into the boards. Stahl shoots it from the blue line but a Goldberg saves it. Once the puck is back on Iceland's stick someone trips Goldberg and Sanderson comes skating around the net and shoots it in getting the first goal of the game. We switch lines as Sanderson taunts Goldberg sending him in a fake fit of rage in order to look tough. Coach sends Russ out and I hear Stansson telling his team to watch him because he's the shooter. They stay on Russ hitting him into the boards, shoving him around, the whole deal. He ends up with the puck winding up but the puck gets taken my Iceland they take it down scoring again.

Coach: how about some magic?
You: they know the play coach that's to risky.
Coach: change it up a bit.
You: but I-
Adam: how about that shot the first time he hung out.
You: that'll work.

I put my helmet on and get Averman, Connie, Dwayne and Guy over to me.

You: we're gonna do the magic play but we're gonna change it up a little.

I explain the play to them and they all agree and Averman wins the face off gaining the puck. I skate behind their net as Dwayne stick handles around them and passes to Connie who fake shoots and passes it to me as I'm skating around the net. I get the puck flip it up and hit it into the net causing the buzzer to go off. The crowd erupts into cheers as my team cheers me on ignoring the taunts of the Iceland team. But that seems to be one of the only goals this period as we were being absolutely dominated by Iceland not quite by goals though by body mass honestly. He send Banks on but tells him to be careful before he gets on the ice. Banks gets the puck in front of the net and skates up as he's getting checked by Stahl. He skates almost to centre before doing his signature low turn with one hand on the ice but it's cut short my Sanderson slashing his bad wrist. I jump over the bench avoiding the arms trying to stop me. I skate up to Adam and help him up making sure he's alright before Sanderson has to make a snarky comment.
