"You really loved her. I'm sorry about what happened to her." The girl from the chair says standing up and walking towards me, her face completely in shadow.

I stare, oddly confused, "Who are you and why would you look into my memories?"

Coming into the light I see she's no older than fifteen, with strawberry blonde hair and hazelnut eyes.

"I am Lucinda Bates and I am a witch, not a creep. Being gifted with telepathy means I have access to all memories and thoughts of others. Sorry if you think I invaded your privacy." She answers, moving out of the light to sit on the end of the bed.

"How did I get here?" I ask, putting my hand on my head.

"Elias and his inner circle brought you. They had snapped your neck." Lucinda replies empatheticaly.

I quickly run that through my head, 'this coven must be powerful if they have a gifted teenage witch .'

"Who is Elias?" I ask aloud.

"He is the coven's leader and he does not have sympathy for many. Be careful." Lucinda replies glancing at the door. "Elias is on his way here. I have to go, I was not supposed to leave my room." She quickly ducks outside and shuts the door.

I sit up and stand, almost falling, bones and muscles protesting. I walk to the table and pick up my journal, the rough leather rubbing against my fingers.

The door opens behind me and I turn to see who it is. As soon as I lie eyes on him I recognize him from earlier. He's the one that ordered the other vampires to snap my neck. Elias.

"I am going to count down from five. If I reach zero before you answer then I will have to kill you. Got it? Why are you in Boston?" He pauses, waiting for me to say something. When I don't answer, he continues, "Five."

"I already told you."

"Four . . . Three."

"I was just passing through!"

"Two . . . One."

"Fine! I was looking for someone. Her name is Rebecca. That is also the reason I was in the forest." I spit it out as fast as I can, knowing this isn't a man who would follow up his threats.

Elias stalks closer to me. When he's almost on top of me, he stops and glares down at me. "Now that was not that hard, was it?"

Looking at his face I see an iritating smirk. He thinks he's being funny.

"So, why did you let my men snap your neck? Most try to run." He spoke with the same smirk, this time in his voice.

"I would not die." I half-lie.

Elias laughs, "I know that is not the only thing." He pauses, "I knew you were a vampire. That is why I brought you here. . . . I am going to go get Lucinda. I will be right back."

'Should I tell him that I already met her?' I ask myself but I choose not to. She would probably be in trouble anyways.

He leaves and comes back about two minutes later with Lucinda. She has a smile on her face but I do not return it.

Leaning in by Lucinda's ear, Elias says, "I will be back soon." He turns and leaves the room.

"Thanks for not telling on me." Lucinda tells me while walking over and sitting on the bed once again.

"Are you supposed to be asking me questions or something?" Asking curiously, looking right at her.

"He wants to know why your here, which he already asked you. After that it would be your age - both, vampire and the age you were when you were changed - and then who turned you. That would surprisingly be it because he likes to ask most of the other questions." Lucinda replies, happy to be providing information.

I walk over to the bed and sit next to her, "Well, I was turned two years ago when I was sixteen, and Rebecca Monet turned me."

"Only two years and you have so much control? Elias will test your control over the thirst so be ready for that too."

Lucinda glances at the door a few times.

"He is on his way back. Good luck, your going to need it."

Right after she's done, the door opens and Elias motions Lucinda out, and directs to me, "Now it is my turn to ask again. This is the difficult part."

I stroll over to the door never taking my eyes off his face which fancied a small grin.
