The end was near.
Both Luis and Will could feel it in their bones. Death was just around the corner, sneaking in the shadows of the night.
Dr. Shaw felt her bony fingers clenched around his neck. Tightly, promising painful demise.
Cold sweat ran trough his body and Graham's wicked sight caught it.
- Does something bothers you, Doctor?
- You're clever enough to know the answer. Im not leaving this room alive, am I?
Graham smiled than laughed like only a mad man would do.
- Being alive is overrated. You'll be set free of this world's poisonous influence.
- I have a family, Mr. Graham. They...
- Don't go this way, it's not gonna help.
I have a family too.
- Hannibal is not your family. He's the unfortunate factor that brought you on the surface. Nevertheless, if we considered him a family, he'd be Will's. You're all alone.
Graham didn't seem impressed by Louis's attempt to hurt his feelings since they were irrelevant. Only one thing mattered - preserving the fragile mind of Will and that meant getting rid of all people who might damage it.
Jack.
Alana.
Dr. .Louis Shaw
They would pay for everything. Hannibal promised him and he always kept his words.
- It's not to late to give up this evil agenda. With the right treatment...
- Nothing will change. Nothing have to change. I must stay if you want for Will not to break.
Louis trembled under the influence of Graham's cold voice. That man was wicked to the bone. Many troubles would have been spared had he died at that fall. But it seems evil was hard to destroy.
- Only one of us will leave this room alive, Louis. You better enjoy breathing while you can. Shaw has never felt more frightened. His glare focused on the door behind Will's back - his way to getting out of this nightmare. Perhaps if he was fast enough there was a chance to go home in one piece. Perhaps there was hope. Yet this hopeful feeling died as fast as it appeared. A man entered the room. Gracefully and deadly like a predator. Dead was dressed in an expensive three-piece suit. Dr.Lecter stood next to will as if he was his guardian angel. The invisible tie between them could be almost seen or touched. Shaw had read about Folie aux Deux only in books, but now he could witnessed it with his very own eyes - undeniable, intense and unbreakable. Two people who taught and acted as one. Was it madness or just a destructive emotional attachment ? Unfortunately, Louis was about to find out.
- Good day, dr. Shaw. I believe we haven't been introduced properly.
- Well, I find it quite twisted to extend a hand to my executioner. Don't you think?
Hannibal smirked.
- There will be no execution today. Well, at least not yours. You are yet to serve another purpose. One can say, you got a lead role.
- Cheer up, Luis. It was actually Hannibal's idea to let you live to see our triumph. Were I the creator of this narrative, you'd be already keeping company with the worms. - Will Graham smirked and began to pace around the room.
- Am I going to be your messenger? You want me to deliver something to Crawford?
- You might say so.- Hannibal said - You'll visit Alana Bloom and make sure there isn't a single drop of blood left in her body. It's up to you to pick the weapon.
- I-i cannot murder a person. That's unthinkable.
- Oh, Shaw. You are too predictable for your own good. Fortunately, Hannibal and I have taken that in consideration. We decided to find a motivation to you. A really ginger and cute one, actually. Luis Shaw's heart skipped a beat. That monsters kept his 4 years old daughter Julie as a hostage, as an assurance that he'd follow all of their orders no matter how sick they were.At that very moment he craved death. Louis couldn't bare the tought that his precious little girl was to be used as a pawn in these twisted game. He could see Julie's wide hazel eyes starring at his own. Her bright smile.
Dr. Shaw was defeated. Actually, he never stood a chance against Graham and Lecter. They always succeed, it was as if the Devil himself guided their hands.
Now, he'd command Shaw's as well because a father's hand would cut as deep as necessary in order to protect his child.
