'All humans get superpowers, guys will get them when they're twelve to sixteen years old and girls will get them when they're ten to fourteen, with no exception.' The private teacher told Jaehyun. He had to take classes every day, his father wanted him to get the education someone of his stratum required.
Jaehyun yawned. He didn't even bother hiding it. It was so usual for him not to pay attention the teacher was already used to repeating the same lessons over and over.
The teacher would have quit, but he knew he wouldn't find another job that payed so well in the kingdom.
'Mr. Jung. It's the third time I've explained this lesson to you in just a day. Can you tell me how do we know someone is using their superpowers at the moment?'
'A mark shows up in their body. That mark is unique and no one has two identical marks, even twins.'
'I see you've listened... I think it's enough for today. See you tomorrow.' His teacher finally left. Jaehyun got up from the chair and stretched a bit.
He went straight to search for Taeil. He loved annoying the older on a daily basis.
Honestly, he was quite thrilled to find out what his superpower would be. He knew he'd get it soon and couldn't wait to boast about it to Taeil hyung.
Taeyong and Doyoung arrived to the younger's house. It wasn't fancy, it was in fact quite small and denoted their low social stratum. Doyoung greeted his mother with a kiss on the cheek.
'Mother, this is Taeyong. He doesn't have a house so I offered him he could stay here.'
The woman smiled warmly at his son's words. Doyoung was always so sweet to people, but he'd never brought anyone home before.
'Sure, he can stay. Nice to meet you, Taeyong.' She kissed him on the cheek as a greeting. 'Where do you work?' She asked. She didn't want to seem rude, but Doyoung and her could barely afford their own food, they wouldn't be able to maintain another person for free.
'I... I don't have a job yet...' Taeyong said shyly. Doyoung could sense the awkwardness so he intervened.
'It's fine! I'll help you find one, don't worry.'
Taeyong felt his heart warm at the younger's words.
Such an adorable guy...
Taeyong thanked Doyoung and they both went outside to find Taeyong a job.
'Talking about jobs... What does your mother do for a living?'
'I... I can't tell you, haha...'
'What about you then?'
'I can't tell you that either... Let's just say we work in the same place, yeah?'
Taeyong went silent and decided not to touch that topic again, as it seemed to make Doyoung quite uncomfortable.
As they were walking through the crowded market, a guy about their age approached Taeyong.
'You're really good looking. Would you like to work for me? I need minstrels to recite my poems and I can't seem to find the right one...'
Taeyong looked at Doyoung hesitantly, but the younger only nodded at him.
'U-uhm sure... What do I have to do?'
'Easy! You just have to read this and memorise it.' Yuta pointed at a piece of parchment with words scribbled all over them. 'Do you know how to read?'
